Default Understanding the whole SEO/CPC/Page rank deal?

Alright guys, I've been trying to wrap my head around this thing for a couple weeks now.

Lets say I found a particular group of keywords, According to Google, Seoquake has the following listed for page rank:

#/PR
1) 3
2) 2
3) 3
4) 3
5) 0
6) 2
7) 4
8) 0
9) 5
10) 3

Since there are a couple page rank zeros in the top 10, does this mean this keyword is good niche to target? It gets about 6000 searches a month with around 300,000 results.

I generally like for there to be no higher than a PR4 in the top 10, and it's obviously better if some of them don't have the keyword phrase in the title tag.

Hi drewsg,

The PR score tells you absolutely nothing about strength of competition of the top listings. Rankings are based on relevance and the PR is not an indication of relevance. It's a metric that is only useful in determining the strength of an outbound link's effect on relevancy scores on the page that is linked to.

You can safely ignore those PR scores and focus on the PR of the pages that link to those pages with relevant anchor text.

Exactly.

SEObook has a decent free app that you can use to analyze search results. That being said, it takes some experience/knowledge before you will truly get the hang of it.
