Hi guys, I'm a fan of manchester united FC, each and everytime after their match I always go online surfing about the result. (sometime I don't see they playing, because sleepy or building my IM business into fast track, lol )Then I found that in Google page 1 I found several same articles rank in a very close rank. like 3 and 6, something like that. If I wasn't wrong, before I knew about SEO and duplicate content, I saw this and now I realized about it. What do you think about it? I just don't understand it. |

Yep these are new stories that have been syndicated across the internet. What exactly is your question? There's lots of duplicate content on the internet, it's just not that big of a deal. |

I've seen this numerous times as well, lots of times it has to do with quickly updated information like sports games, world events etc... You don't see it very often in info niche/product review stuff (where a lot of IMers tend to hang their hats!)

Hi there fellow devil's fan. Well big G is very hard to decipher. No one really knows how they work. Even SEO is changing so rapidly that marketers have to constantly be on their heels to keep up. To answer your question. Well I guess when you look for football articles they all come from fairly big sites with a high PR and therefore big G doesn't really give a damn lol |

Unique content is always better, at least with unique content its going to be of value *I would hope* and also has no chance of being flagged and deindex or your domain being falgged as well.

There are myths of duplicate content. Google looks to see if you have duplicate content on your website and they probably look to see if you own multiple sites with the same content. Other that this, I don’t think they can penalize you for duplicate content. If they could your competitors could just copy and post your content everywhere. And there would be not song lyric sites, poetry sites or news feed sites anywhere on the first page of Google. It is the article directories that don’t like duplicate content. Many of them will usually check this before they publish your articles. However, I think you should have unique content if you truly want to build a long term business. |

Yeah I agree there area lot of duplicates. Owners can sue them but I don't think they care. Though others are just rewriting them. If I'm the writer I don't think it's good to have any duplicates from other websites.
