I think it was onliy six months ago that I tried some facebook advertising, and ads at that time I considered expensive for a PPC network. (I think between $0.50-$1). Didn't really pursue it because was just 'breaking' even. (Wasn't worth the time/effort). Thought I would give it a shot now, for some highly targeted demographics -- and wow -- the "suggested" bid is $4.50 per *click*. Plus, the now offload taxes to the consumer. (I believe 'taxes' were included before, but now they decided to add that on to your existing ads. So if you spent $100, it would be $100 + tax). a) Just priced me right out of the ad market for facebook. Would have to have a ridiculously high conversion rate in order to make money with that. (I.e., for a $20 product, you'd get *four* clicks, and of those four, one of them would have to buy for you to break even, of course excluding refunds/chargebacks/etc.). b) I'm curious what on earth is being sold that people can actually make money across the spectrum with an ad price of $4.50/click... Some people are lucky if they get a 10-15% purchase rate, which would mean that the product would have to be $300-$450 'lifetime' per customer for them to make money, which doesn't seem right. Either they've figured out a fantastic click->purchase formula, or facebook ads are way overpriced... What are your thoughts? John |

What Facebook ASKS for is not what you pay. That's determined by how good your ad is. I've had Facebook ask me for $11 a click. I'm paying between 17 and 85 cents depending on the targeting. |

Success is in the ad and the targeting. It's also whether you want to take people off Facebook. The magic happens when you keep them ON Facebook. | |

I am doing well onf FB advertising. My clicks are $1.75, expensive, but I find that my product is doing well on there. So I will continue to use it. My product sells for $29.00 but the CTR is good. The price has gone up though. I used to pay $1.20 for this traffic. Bummer.

I was not impressed with their analytics at all. I also could never correlate their stats with my stats. I did not get the traffic they said I was getting. Never have I observed money disappear faster in my CPC life. Gulp, Burp, Gone.

We all live and learn. It could pay you depending on what you are selling. If the product involves recurring commissions and upsells. then maybe it would pay.

Facebook does offer supreme targeting and a longer duration of exposure than, say, Google. I think, if nothing else, it helps more with branding to have your website at least show up on their ads. With that said, $4.50 a click seems really high. I try to avoid paying more than $1. |

I was on the WF CPA forum the other night & was reading a thread that had good comments about 7search[dot]com. I looked around the site, & the prices looked kinda low IMO. You can search the keyword tool here. hxxp://conversion.7search.com/scripts/advertisertools/keywordsuggestion.aspx |
