Two weeks ago I outsouced 100's manual social bookmarking.No increase of backlings or traffic at all now.I've checked links on the report,all of them is valid though can not bring any benifit to my website.

Its too easy to spam to make a huge difference.

I still do it, but more for link diversity than for the direct benefit.

Not all social bookmarking are good for backlinks mosty of them are for gaining traffic but in order to get the traffic you wish you must build network with your account invite some member to join your network.

All links are good generally for improving your ranking even when they don't pass the "link juice" - the speed at which you build them maybe for a while a problem, but they should be seen as long term.

Make sure the rest of the SEO stuff is happening to maximize the effect.

My understanding is that expecting drastic results from a one time activity is not a fair deal.

Secondly, the top ten sites will fetch you more traffic than 90% of the remaining sites. So, if you don't have an advertising budget, submit you site to top 10 social bookmarking site and do it consistently, you will see good traffic.

social bookmarking backlinks are still as effective although more and more are becoming nofollow.

I am still building reasonable amount of social media backlinks in combine with other backlinks to make my links look more natural.

Besides, the traffic that social backlinks generate is one of the factor for search engines to determine your organic search rankings.

I still believe in social bookmarking. I think you should give it more time. For me social bookmarking remains effective.

I never use social bookmarking for link building purposes. They are simply not that valuable in that sense. Instead, I use them to get my stuff index. They still work for that.

SBs are extremely valuable for link building purposes. You're just doing it wrong. Search the forum for more info on how to do it properly.

Some additional information would help in getting an answer to your concern.

1. What type results were you expecting?
2. How long after the campaign did you reassess backlinks and traffic?
3. Generally, what market are you targeting?
4. How did you check the 100s of links in your report?
5. What other marketing and promotion efforts were in place at this time?

Social bookmarking is still effective, even with the overwhelming loads of obvious spam, you can still get results. Of course social bookmarking alone will rarely get the job done. You will also need to bolster your presence using other content-based and brand-based marketing tools and resources.

No, its not the thing so, social bookmarking is still effective, but the thing is, SEO is long terminal process, you will get your fruit after quite a longer time ( hope so, and for sure too )

Spot on bro. Social bookmarking has not been effective for me 2 years ago, it won't be now, and it will not be in the future. I had copies of Bookmarking demon and other software that a couple of my staff is using daily for my different websites, but seriously they only account for a VERY MINOR role in SEO, the useful part of Social Bookmarking is rather more on the link diversity purpose.

If you really want to do social bookmarking, don't waste money to have it manually submitted, choose the BEST 10 social bookmarking sites, and do it yourself within half an hour. The effect would be near as close as doing on 100 sites as most bookmarking sites are highly spammed it's not even useful anymore..

I strongly believe if you site is listed on popular bookmarking site like digg, delicious and if you shared interesting content over there you will get good amount of traffic. it takes times dude its not about just submission, try to build profile that will helps you in getting votes and like so other people can like or share it across the web.

My Google don't show every back link to your site so check your back link in any back link checker site or yahoo. And how you define which activity is good for Ranking of your sites. One more thing just try to do "Dofollow" bookmarking.
