Hi everyone, I've read recently that the best way to use PPC these days is to start using Yahoo PPC. They claim it doesn't have the high competition that you now find in Adsense and click prices are way lower. I've been reviewing a Yahoo PPC and this add network really seems to be better. But I don't know you more experienced PPC users, what do you think?...

Adpablo, This isn't Yahoo Answers. You might want to remove your affiliate link from your post. |

If you're a beginner, I would definitely recommend starting with yahoo/msn ppc. Track and test until you are making some decent money, then take a step into the word of the big G.

I have found that Yahoo Search Marketing provides a more receptive audience to generate sales as an affiliate. People who use Google as their search engine of choice are usually more tech savvy and less responsive to paid search ads. Not only is Google Adwords more expensive but it is far more difficult to setup profitable campaigns unless you are more experienced in Pay Per Click. |

I've used both and there are pros and cons to both. I have to say I have had more response with Yahoo; however, in Google's defense, I have not yet tried the same campaign with Google yet. I will probably test the campaign out with them after I have done some more testing with Yahoo.

Great question> I have had many people ask me that and it seems that more people are loosing more money to google. It is not that they are stupid it's just that google is constantly changing and the contest is GOOGLE VS. TECH SAVY. Unless you want to experiment alot google will get you traffic if you don't make errors. Yahoo is overlooked and you will get good results and a feel for bidding without using up your budget fast.

| Yahoo traffic seems cheaper in some niches. I am testing couple of campaigns, so can not comment on conversions |

I've read and experienced some conflicting information on this. On the whole alot of people do feel that MSN and Yahoo convert better then adwords but you won't get nearly the same volume. Obviously competition is less so that helps, I also think folks using yahoo and msn are less tech savvy then googlers...

@adpablo Were you talking about Google "adwords" or "adsense" to begin with? In your post and title you have used the word "adsense" but you seem to be talking about adwords |

I have both running right now. My CPC is lower with Yahoo for about the same rankings. However it doesn't get the same click thru rate and nowhere NEAR the volume. Depending on your niche. (mine gets 1000-1200 searches a day on google NOT CLICKS) yahoo is like 15% of that. So I guess it depends how much you want to spend and your niche I prefer google but yahoo works to get some extra traffic at a cheaper price. I wouldn't make a living only using yahoo though. |

Google will always pay a lot better according to people who are using both. I myself cannot get into YPN but with googel adsense you can get paid 2.00 to 9.00 per clikc depending on your niche.

If you are buying adwords, be as specific as possible and give yourself a daily dollar limt. I was not selective one time, but did give myself a limit, and am glad i did. I was getting plenty of hits but no conversions because I had selected the wrong words. When it comes to getting paid for adwords, Google can pay better and they have better tools but some of their tools can be used to track all services so don't limit yourself to one or the other, just limit for budget when buying.
