Would you buy a parked domain for its page rank? I just saw a PR3 for sale but it is parked. It doesn't make sense to me that a parked domain would have good page rank. Will it lose it soon, or might it be worth buying?

When you buy a domain you don't get the PR right? Not sure, but here's a link I found on Warrior here: warriorforum.com/adsense-ppc-seo-discussion-forum/152879-how-buy-domain-w-page-rank-keep-google-pagerank.html |

I'm no expert on this, but I'm curious if the PR is residual from the previous owner- when the domain was active. It's not like you're getting the old site, too. So it seems that you'd have to rebuild something to establish a continuing rank?

Just do a back-link analysis of the site. Check out the anchor text and the authority of the linking sites. If there are no links, then it is essentially worthless. PR is not "residual" (nor does it matter all that much), links ARE continual. |

If you can find a parked domain with some good links pointing to it, it's worth buying. If the links are junk, or if they all come from the same network of sites, they're worthless and they'll probably disappear in the future when they guy realizes he's backlinking to a site he no longer owns.
