Blog Farming, the facts about the Google boondoggle

Chances are you may have noticed a fair few threads in several different forums today discussing the changes in how Google, (the largest volume supplies of search engine data in the marketplace, world wide) is providing search engine placement for various search queries.

In a quote from Mashable.com we see the following which is significant and should not be taken out of context. (in other words read the whole article for some revealing information you probably should be aware of if your in the auto blogging, (blog farming business)

Google did not go into details of the change, which should impact 11.8% of Google’s queries (currently only in the U.S., with plans to roll it out elsewhere over time), but it does say that it will affect the ranking of many sites on the web.

What this means to you if your website is not in the US market, but in other markets, it means nothing simply because this is specific to the US at the current time, likely though it will spread to other markets soon.

However, if you have in the past received some organic traffic from the US market, you may notice a huge difference, (like when someone turns off the power the lights go off) I noticed several individuals posting irrelevant information about this topic so I felt like it would be a good SEO post topic.

So here you go by the numbers.

1. This effects the US market only at this time.
2. Google does not completely define what they consider to be an offender, all though there is adequate information to determine what is likely to be considered vermin, in the google search engine.
3. This is just the beginning, bing has made a little dent in the market for Google and this is Google firing back, any way you stack it, slice it or dice it, if you do not change the way your doing business you are going to be Erased, Assimilated and just generally turned into road pizza.

Yahoo Finance reports, “In a blog post, Google search engineers Amit Singhal and Matt Cutts write that the update, which will effect a whopping 11.8% of all search results, “is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful.”
“At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites—sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.”
When you examine this and what it means to the average web master, you can see just how much of a challenge this could end up being in the future.

Competition, what it means to be a needle in the haystack.

Google and Bing are competing, as well you have large social networks that are also competing, Facebook and Twitter, this is effecting how SEO is being implemented and it is happening right now.

You may still be getting good rankings right now, but as we all know things change fast and without notice, Google does not even pretend to tell the average webmaster or SEO consultant what they are up to in fact it is a big secret, and much of what we see published is very often based on guess work, instead of actual fact.

So while you may enjoy some ranking and organic traffic today, tomorrow you may end up the needle instead of the hay.

The handwriting is on the wall folks, content is about to be weighed, and if your producing, sub par, low value, scraped, auto blogging content, you will be Assimilated, for the geeks among us Google is the Borg, you are the Drones.

Who? Who are these people you keep touting? I've read very few posts on any message forum about traffic increase for the white hat guy. In my niche, I noticed Amazon and Ebay have taken the place of many.

So yes, I am sure Amazon and eBay are very please with this. However, when I am searching for something, I use Google.com to find it. If I want to buy something, I will go to Google Shopping to find it. Now I must weed through eBay ads and Amazon to find what I am looking for.
