Hello, everyone. I think the title of this post says it all. I've read a lot on this forum about all the changes and it makes my head spin. I'd like to know if anyone has seen changes to those two sites, too. Would be interesting if they get an "extra treatment" or if they also got penalized. |

My hubpages and squidoo pages so far seem unaffected by the changes.

Yeah they are the same as eza/articlebase, content farm type websites, so yes they will be effected by the changes.

If big sites like EZA, Article Base, Hubpages and Squidoo are affected, which ones can we still use? I am beginning to get worried.. |

Can we stop the panicking? Squidoo has always had an internal way of combating this. Your lenses do not get featured. They have implemented many anti-spam features, including that you must have at least 200 characters and a picture in your opening, plus limiting the amount of links. Become a giant squid and you have more privileges. If you are not a giant squid, then it takes more to get a green check mark by your lenses. But it's been like that for a while. Too many people are just going nuts. Paul |

This has nothing to do with these sites getting taken down or being less authoritative. In my top 25 losers thread, there is an article. Basicall, Hub was FOUND on 150 or something different search words. Now they are found on 60 or so. Forgive me if I forget the exact numbers. For Example, if your own site once ranked #1 on 15 different words, it may only rank #1 on 5 different words. And one of those words, could still be your highest traffic keyword, who knows. This is far from the end of the world. |

Thank you for all the answers. I think we are currently in a storm of FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) and we just have to wait until the dust settles. I think those who produced quality in the past won't be affected since they share their goals with google and the other search engines. Quality is what counts. |

I dont know about you guys. I am feeling really good about the new algorithm update. I think it is a loss for affiliate marketers targeting web 2.0 properties for some earnings. Though these sites have lost their credibility in the eyes of Google i do not think it would be much of a problem for guys trying rank personal sites. I also think the new Algorithm is concerned about more backlinks to the targeted page. |

Only a fool is targeting articles or web2.0 as MAIN POINT for traffic and sales. I always only used those properties for strengthening my own sites, basically as "buffers". And..i got huge jumps upwards in rankings especially after Feb, 24th ON MY SITES - while the article sites itself and web2.0 properties might have dropped, but thats really totally irrelevant. |

I'm finding my lenses doing better then ever, but the content on them has always been unique (minus the RSS feed pulls from my sites). I think the only sites that need worry about the google slap are those full of dupe content, so if your lenses are dupe content, you're slapped, if they're unique, your still doing just fine. Best wishes, Sylvia |

Yes they took a major hit according to the latest analysis done on their rankings: Article Marketing Has Crashed! Ezine Articles Sees 71% of Rankings Drop When compete.com and Alexa data starts to come in in about a month it will be more clear. |
