How useful do you think can BookMarking software be for your Link/Traffic Building??

Hi Warriors,

I am thinking about my next Internet Marketing simplifier software. I have received quite a few requests about an automatic Ping.fm accounts creation software.

Ok there may be some readers here that may not be familiar about Ping.fm.

What is Ping.fm?

Ping.fm is a free social networking and micro-blogging web service that enables users to post to multiple social networks simultaneously.

Making an update on Ping.fm pushes the update to a number of different social websites at once. This allows individuals using multiple social networks to update their status only once, without having to update it in all their social media individually. Ping.fm groups services into three categories – status updates, blogs, and micro-blogs – and updates can be sent to each group separately.


A user can configure his or her Ping.fm account to aggregate content to the following services:

and maybe a few more, they keep adding new and deleting dead sites.


It is often a tedious job to create and maintain accounts on these sites for your Internet marketing campaigns. Thats where I come in, I am an Automated Web Solutions Developer from Brisbane, Australia.

Due to increasing requests for this product, I thought Why not ask the Warriors?
Often development and maintaining of of such a product is not easy, its time consuming and on-going.


I am thinking of developing this product, and offer all the Warrior members a special discount on the Beta release of the product as a WSO, for participating in this survey. Of course, the price will be kept reasonable for almost everyone reach.

I am also open for suggestions, if you have any on what type of feature would you like.

I'd be very interested in this type of software

BUT i'd have to just say that ping.fm isn't looking like they're in great condition at the moment because they've suspended alot of plugin APIs as well ass the RSS feed function due to their social networking partners complaining about spam - and there hasn't been any improvement/movement for a while.

You might want to look at something like pixelpipe, hellotxt or onlywire or another alternative as well since im skeptical about ping.fm returning to its full glory days

@izrafel, Thanks for your input, I can certainly look into it, onlywire was the other option in my mind. Pixelpipe was also in my mind for my project after Ping.fm.

I will monitor this thread and maybe if there are enough interest then I could probably do add-on to the main project for future road map.

I found that currently these accounts are being charged between $7 to $18 per account setup, elsewhere on the Internet.


So think about what kind of power such a software can give and how much money can it save you..

Praney, i think pixelpipe is definitely the front runner amongst MOST warriors/seo experts at the moment simply because it submits to more services

I still use ping.fm/hellotxt/onlywire because I haven't found an easy way to automate pixelpipe (ie:have an rss feed or wordpress blog automatically submit to pixelpipe without me having to paste/upload again to pixelpipe)

I think if we focus quality instead of quantity, I personally try to build 10 really good quality links coming back to my site.

I am sure most SEO people would know what I am talking about here.

It doesn't really matter too much to me on which one to start the development. As I have a lot on my road map, this discussion is just to decide on where to start.

I am trying to find what exactly are the IMers looking for from such services.

For the most useful sites in ping.fm people are likely to have multiple accounts/sites and likely to post to them manually. ie if you have 50 blogger and wordpress sites as well as a dozen twitter accounts.. posting to ping.fm is not going to allow you to post to all of them.

Looking at the sites in onlywire.. previous to latest google shake up there are multiple sites in there that have got me on page one before.

create rss feed of your site

submit it to twitterfeed dot com

now there you can configure it to post the feed to ping fm, and from ping fm it`s automatically send to your socail sites.

that you get autolinks everytime you add new post to your site.

Razex, Thanks for your input. I agree, as I have personally used onlywire service before and still do and delivers good results if used properly.

Although, its a great trick, but I think twitterfeed doesn't support Ping fm anymore.

Yeah i USED to like ping.fm hands down because of RSS feeding into it
but ping.fm have now disabled this and twitterfeed don't support ping.fm
AND ping.fm have suspended most of the wordpress plugin APIs as well which makes ping.fm definitely NOT a front runner anymore unless they fix this sometime soon

I've been looking into social bookmarking a lot lately and I'm not sure this type of automation is a good idea for SEO. When google see's your post has been submitted to 30 or so bookmarking sites all at the same time it doesn't look good and if no one else bookmarks or diggs (or whatever) your post google will see it as being not a good post. A lot of people reckon working on one bookmarking site like digg or stumbleupon and getting a lot of diggs or likes for it, then google will rank it highly. After all google ranking is all about the user's experience. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As an Onlywire and Ping.fm service provider I can say that my clients seem to like Onlywire more than ping.fm. I just get more orders than ping.fm but that doesn't mean it is better just more popular They are different animals really.. onlywire is social bookmarking solely and ping.fm is like micro blogging.

It seems providing good quality regular content is the way to go. Have your posts well seo'd with keywords, h tags, anchor text etc. Google is stamping down on a lot of link building and it's not as effective for getting ranked as it once was. Google has over 200 factors in their algorithm to determine page rank and yet people seem to only focus on link building, it's inevitable google were gonna do something about this, remember google's main focus is the user's experience. You are right about posting to 30 social sites at the same time may now raise flags for your bookmark now with the new G Farmer update.

That was the reason for starting this thread initially, I have been getting a lot of requests for creating a software that could automatically create accounts for the services supported by Ping.fm and OnlyWire. I knew about the issue all together and I personally don't like such a things like dropping mass links or bookmarks in SEO.

What would you say about picking up a few powerful bookmarking sites and giving you the ability to submit and rank better on these sites say have people vote for your bookmarks?

Ping.fm more ways to generate trafic and can be automated backlinks forever. Just like treasure for traffic & backlinks if someone to look deeper with the powerful of ping.fm.

Thanks for your input mate, there is no doubt about the power that a service like Ping.fm can have, but when it's working properly. There is a few people who have comments on this thread before, about the non functionally of Ping.fm when it comes to some important services that don't work anymore after the takeover.

Also there is a discussion fired up about the Big G's Farmer update, which is a little off the topic. But considering the update, just a link dump or bookmark dump will not make a big difference to your SEO.

I am here with an open discussion about bringing out a useful automation product out here. So I am considering suggestions, one I am convinced with what I could offer, that is useful to the users will make more sense to me as don't wanna just add to the so much of already selling dump on alot of forums.

I would rather have a useful product in a close community of users, so the methods are not saturated.

I think people who do some real SEO, they know what I am talking about.

Previous to recent google shakeup sites like faves, blinklist, jumptags and digg, could get you on first page.. those sites don't show up any more but definately give your site a boost

First and easiest step for a new wordpress site is CBNET ping optimizer and google sitemap

Although sometimes they do show up in good position on SERPs sometimes but thats not consistent anymore.

I am glad to see people are taking interest in the development of such a useful software. I might have to speed up the development process. But as we are looking to provide a quality product, it might take a little time and lots of testing, before we could launch.
