Hey warriors, Hope everyone is well (make sure you take your meds!)I really need to diversify my marketing efforts and I'd like to work on Social Bookmarking to create some links to my sites or articles(directories) ... BUT! Well "reddit" (gawwdd!) turned out to be my 1st effort today This seems to be very "high" wall to climb(if you catch my drift) or maybe I take "rules and faq's" too seriously ...but they seem very "ethically based" and not the kind of place someone can "lay some links" rather quickly I mean Reddit obviously stayed in good standing with googles algo changes because they are not fraught with "crapp", it's obviously a site that takes SB seriously! I applaud them !!! but that doesn't help me any!!!! (arrrgghh!) Can someone suggest an "easier place to start?" Pretty please? But then again "you get what you pay for in a sense" and the lower quality and "the ease" of which you can "lay down some pipe" will usually turn out to be "links of less value" but maybe someone "in the middle"??? Thanks warriors mates! Dano~ |

Hi, You might try the free services of onlywire. Then you can sign up accounts on popular social bookmarking websites such as Digg, Delicious and Stumbleupon. These sites are great with these. |

thank you shafiqkamal, But I was asking specifically about given SB sites and ones ability to "get into their community" and quickley lay down some "link pipe" get it? In other words I wasn't interested in knowing about a "posting tool" but instead on what SB site is "friendly" to a new comer and what might be a good approach to be able to post a link and one that I don't have to be a member of their community for an eternity before I'm able to post a link relevent to my site or article? or maybe even an approach? thanks! dano~ |

I used Onlywire so SB to about 40 different services and bookmark several hundred articles on that site. Out of these roughly 100K links that Google indexed for this site, 3 are from Social Bookmarking. So FYI, you can get traffic from SB, but if you are looking to use it for link building and SEO, you will be wasting your time. If you need links, do link directory submissions, article submissions, and blog comments and write awesome content which gets links naturally. I know that sounds lame, but that is what the hard numbers have told me. I think SB is one of the biggest SEO myths ever. I'm just going off of my GW numbers from Google itself.

bitbottom, thank you very much for taking the time to really help me get a bigger picture, not that the other posts weren't helpful, but they missed the mark link directory submissions? do you mean in general "directories"?? Quote:

Yes. Just general link directories. It's a slow process. Blog commenting is much faster...followed by article marketing, followed by link directories. People are always down on link directories, but let me let you in on a secret...Google seems to be very "cool" with link directories. I have no idea why that is, but for fun, I started one on my site about a week ago, just as a service to my visitors. It's in a sub folder, but in a weeks time, Google slapped a PR 2 on it and it is only a week old with about 28 links in it so far...who knows??? Anyway, many of the submissions I have received so far have had pretty decent PR...PR2's, 3's, 4's. These were all niche sites and Google is apparently showing them love. Actually some of them look kinda spammy...calling cards, drugs, among other niches and they seem to be the first submitting. Everyone always raves about SB and downs LDs, but personally, I have found the exact OPPOSITE to be true.

Just get your category right and use some "juicy", well-researched keywords as your title.
