|  A little Off-Topic re: Plagiarism and Copying Content
The German Defense Minister Guttenberg (39) resigned today after he got caught having plagiarized his Doctor title/thesis. A journalist who wanted to write an article about the minister's doctor thesis routinely put some text of it into Google - just to see that the majority of the thesis was simply copied and pasted from all kinds of sources on the web. Even after caught, he first denied the allegations, didn't want to resign. Was even backed up by the chancellor and many of his colleges. He asked the university of Bayreuth to withdraw his Doctor title, so they did. But this didn't save his ***. Many protesters voiced their anger, scientific community got mad too..and today he resigned. You see, plagiarism and copy paste jobs are not only limited to autobloggers trying to make some bucks with adsense  The irony: As defense minister he was also head of the "Bundeswehr (=German army) University"...hilarious... |
