What should be the minimum length of URL?

Hello Everybody,

Today i have come across with a site which has url containing more than 150 character. Is it good from seo point of view. i just want to know what should be the minimum and maximum character should URL contain.

What if i change the big url to minimum length url. Will it effect my ranking of websites.

Please suggest i need it urgently

The lenghth of the URL has no affect on SEO, it's the content of the URL that will be of value. Having said that a 150 char URL spammed full of keywords will have a negative affect in the long term and will water down the value of any keywords in the URL, whereas a URL containing the targetted keyword(s) of the site will be benefical.
So keywordkeyword2keyword3keyword4keyword5keyword6.co m = bad
keyword.com = good

There is not a "minimum" or "maximum". I agree with what Jimmy is saying in regards to spammy keyword stuffed phrases. But others opinions could vary...

Stick with your main keyword in your url. If you have a long url it will definitly be a turn off.

This Question was not related to a main URL. i want to know how many character in internal URL and they effect on the site view of SEO Please SEO Expert Reply on It.

Interesting question, never thought there could be 150 characters ?? I'm not sure if Google has any relevant guideline for it. Because I never saw one yet.
