I have a blog powered by wordpress, and I want to post categories to the main menu, as pages. I thought about using a redirection plugin, like Redirection; you can find it on wordpress.org (sorry, not allowed to post links). This way, I though about creating pages with the same names as the categories, and do a redirection from each page to the category it represents. Will this affect the SEO optimization or how google "sees" me? Thanks! |

make sure it is a 301 re-direct, and it may take time for Google to update their pages with your new results.

im not sure why you would want to do that.. why not just make the pages and leave it at that? just curious, im not knocking you but anyway, SEO wise, all i can see is that it will affect the load time of your page.. which could penalize you just a little Regards, Tyler Abernethy |

Redirection will affect SEO. A 301 will past most of a site's "page rank". Why would you do what you are describing? |

It's taking too much time to add your account. Don't worry.
