Question to AdWords Gurus: Cant change bid option

Hi there,

google can't help me with the following problem:

I have campaigns with 10.000 adgroups per campaign (please dont ask why so many, it has a reason). The problem is, that i can not change the bidding option from manual bidding to conversion optimiser.
If i want to change it, the "loading wheel" is turning around for 1 minute, then a error message pops up: "There was an error with your operation. If you where trying to make a change, it may not have saved. Please refresh this page to try again. If the error continues, log out of your AdWords account, then log in again and return to this page. [ Dismiss ]".
I tryed everything (deleting cookies, other browsers, log out, with and without google gears, ...). It does not help.

Google AdWords Support can' help me. Is there any workaround to change the bidding option in campaigns with many adgroups?

I hesitate since this is your first and only post...could be spam...

Is that for real? 10,000 per each campaign, and you have multiples
of these? Highly unlikely. In the event you do have tens of thousands of
these ad groups, perhaps the system is choking. I sure would.

As Paul said, the system is probably choking under the weight. But sometimes you get these messages. Try again later. My advice instead is to use the Adwords Editor.

I am guessing the system is timing out when trying to update.

It sounds like the way you have it set up is very untargeted.

You can try the Adwords editor, Google AdWords Editor

It may be able to hold the connection open long enough to complete
