Default A dumb question maybe?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if it wasn't I 'd hate to be making a mistake, or at least I'd like to understand what I'd be walking into; I'm considering shifting a website hosting from godaddy over to hostgator, is my SEO going to be penalized for that sort of thing? I want more capacity on my site hence the change, and will be remodelling the site a fair bit, even though the content will be copied and pasted from one to the other, so no changes there.
thanks BR

Well no such thing as a dumb question (IMHO)!

I'm sure others will back me up, but that shouldn't be a problem at all. I've moved hosts many times over the years and haven't noticed any such SEO hits. Other people move hosts all the time.

Good luck with your move!

Nope. You'll have no hassles SEO wise for making that move - and btw that is the smartest thing you can do. Godaddy is a horrendous waste of time. I switched years ago and wouldn't buy a service from godaddy now if they held a gun to my head.

Changing hosting company is very common practice among webmasters. They change host time to time as they get better option and services from others. I have moved my blogs from dollar2host to blue host due to much slow and server down problem. So don't worry about seo effect if you change host.
