Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if it wasn't I 'd hate to be making a mistake, or at least I'd like to understand what I'd be walking into; I'm considering shifting a website hosting from godaddy over to hostgator, is my SEO going to be penalized for that sort of thing? I want more capacity on my site hence the change, and will be remodelling the site a fair bit, even though the content will be copied and pasted from one to the other, so no changes there. thanks BR |

Well no such thing as a dumb question (IMHO)! I'm sure others will back me up, but that shouldn't be a problem at all. I've moved hosts many times over the years and haven't noticed any such SEO hits. Other people move hosts all the time. Good luck with your move! |

Changing hosting company is very common practice among webmasters. They change host time to time as they get better option and services from others. I have moved my blogs from dollar2host to blue host due to much slow and server down problem. So don't worry about seo effect if you change host.
