Exit Pop Ups and SEO

I see this Exit popups everywhere! I know they must be effective, my question is: Can day harm my SEO?

Exit popups are relatively annoying, but the impact on your SEO should be negligible.

You should not put up exit pop ups, since they are annoying, dont you think that Google trys to keep that spam crap out of their index??

That being said.. I;m sure if you lead them into a sales page that didnt need to be ranked, and then they conisder leaving, you could remind them of a relevant point that they should take extra acknowledgment of, and then it shouldnt hurt you at all, considering that page isnt SEOed.
