Default er, cloaking the keywords?

I'm not sure if thats the right phrase, I want to hide the keywords I want to rank for, is there a way to hide the keywords that show up under 'View/page source?" I definitely want to stop other sites from being able to bump me off once I arrive, or at least make it as hard as possible. In my research I do find this info not showing up, mostly on larger commercial sites, thanks BR88

Sure, just don't use them.

I assume you're talking about the keywords Meta tag, which does nothing.

Google stopped using it around 2001 and all the engines (even the smaller ones) had stopped by 2006. Essentially all it does is tell your competitors what you're trying to target.

It also confuses you into thinking your are targeting keywords that you aren't in actuality.

Your page title, backlink anchortext, cross-linked anchortext, header tags, etc. are what really targets those keywords!

(Description Meta still works)
