Default i'm not getting relevent ads

I'm fairly new to this game and trying to learn as much as possible. It's been quite fun. I downloaded the 100k adsense blueprint and studied it as well as other things on the net before launching my first site. After a month, it's ranked number 5 for my keyword and gets a few clicks. My problem is, when I google my keyword, the ads that are displayed on google are wonderful and exactly what I want. However, on my actual site, the ads aren't all quite up to what should be on there.

Is there anything that can be done to manipulate the ads shown up? Is this all my fault because of my article writing? Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on a number of factors: quality of your site and content, keyword density, traffic, etc.

I've never had a problem getting relevent Adsense Ads from having the target keyword in the "Page-Title + <h1> tag".

Single <h1> per page, otherwise Google will be like, wtf?

i feel you should do proper keyword research and then look for less competitive keywords so that you can easily rank on them and then make sure they have a minimum of 1500 - 2000 monthly. you will easily rank on google. make sure the competition is less than 50,000. you can do the search by using google keyword tools. thanks

Why on earth would anyone want to give up higher dollar Ads because they can't rank a page in Google SERPs?

With Adsense you should be going after the most competitive keywords that are relevent to your site, then build the pages out for higher dollar Adsense ADs.

Driving traffic & picking money keywords is not the same thing.

It's very possible to get the easier traffic & deliver the higher dollar Adsense Ads.

Example:
If I had a wallpaper site (easy traffic) & one of my wallpaper categories was Cars, I guarantee every single page in that Cars/wallpaper category would have at least one "auto insurance" Ads (higher dollar Ads).

I think, you've not yet done research keyword thoroughly. Please bear in mind keyword research has significant role to your online business. The failure or success of keyword research really correlate your online business. don't launch your website or blog until you do research keyword on the track.

Research for what, people? The question is on relevant ads!

Yukon has a great start, title, h1, but sometimes different things
can trump that. People can target your page or your traffic is
geared for something else.

You should turn interest based ads off. The default is on, and it
means they may serve ads based on user interest and demographics,
not necessarily your niche.

Google will toss ads up as to what it thinks is best anyway, and
you may be viewing ads that someone else is not seeing. Things
can change from hour to hour.

Keep in mind more advertisers bid on a narrower niche on search,
making the ads very, very targeted. The content network is left
with some who are trying for a few crumbs.

What research? Mindless replies...

Paul

Thank you for the suggestion of h1 tags as well as the latter suggestion of turning interest based ads off. That's exactly what I was looking for. I've done my research and I'm targeting a keyword that has 40k local searches per month. I currently rank number 5 for that keyword and my stats are only increasing. I have a great backlinking campaign and integrate well with web 2.0. Beyond that it fits in with another line of marketing that I work in. This website is not only a proof of concept IM site, but it further expands to fit in with the rest of my life and allows me to show the agencies that I freelance for that I'm not a one trick poney. Web 3.0, baby.

Hi Everyone:

I have been doing internet marketing for many years, 13 to be exact and have over 40 websites and some of them are sites that implement Google Adsense. I have never had a problem with them showing relevant ads.

However, one of my sites which has been making a lot of money with Adsense started showing ads that were not relevant about 4 days ago on the homepage and many of the inner pages. I am not sure why as the content is pretty much the same as it always has been and I haven't changed anything. Needless to say, Adsense revenue has dropped to almost nothing even though traffic is going through the roof!

It is a site about making money and the ads are usually very relevant but lately most of them show one ad about investing in stocks and skin care. Just doesn't make sense.

I turned off interest based ads but still it does not help at all. I am stumped on this one.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Scott P.
