Default Please help clear up a point of confusion

Hi,

Could you please help, with an issue regarding google ranking.

I have a new site Long Hair Cuts and am aiming at two specific keywords, long haircuts and long hair cuts. Market samurai has been showing these in google .com at #8 and #13 respectively, but today they are not found at all. In doing a visual check on google.com I was pleasantly surprised to see them at #1 and #4 and on google.co.uk #1 and #3. Obviously these results are completely different to Market Samurai and I am getting about 30 - 40 clicks a day.

If you have the time can you check these keywords out in your locale, as I am confused about the accuracy of MS compared to what I am visually seeing.

Many thanks in advance

Hi,

your website is not even in the 1st here in mine.

Google has so many data center so each results will be different. You are seeing high ranking of your site in your browser since google can track user activities that you always access your site and making google think that is your favorite site.

Make sure you are logged out of a Google service (Like Gmail or Adwords) and then try.

Also, clear your cache and then try searching all over again. To reinforce your location, if you are in US and you want to check UK rankings, first do a search for the keyword long hair cuts

The results page that you get, to that URL, append &gl=uk and press Enter. You will get a better listing of UK only results.

Best

You show up as #10 on mine.

You might need to build up a few more backlinks and you'll be up there. You probably have clicked and visited your site, so that is why google is showing up higher for you I believe.

You can always find a variation in rankings b/w manual checking and tools. As Raviv mentioned you can check out again once you have cleared your cache.

google tries to be smart (well it is smart) to present result based on demography or should i say location? the best result you should pic should be your local results...that's results you see in your own place as i presume someone working on 'long hair cuts' keywords has a saloon somewhere around .

all the best.

If you use Chrome just use the "Incognito" function to browse and search. Beats clearing cache all day imo...

You are in the second page of Google in my browser. #11 for long haircuts and #13 for long hair cuts.

You will not get the very accurate result because people will always see different ranking position since they are searching from different part of the globe. However, it's good to know that we are getting a very close results in spite of we are checking your site's ranking from different countries.
