Default Are Linkwheels Still Effective With Google's Changes?

Hey, I heard recently Google changed their algorithms, which has been affecting their SEO traffic lately. They are basically eliminating lower quality content, from my understanding.

I'm wondering, does that affect Linkwheels (web 2.0 sites, blogs, etc...) that link to your site to increase rankings?

The reason I ask is because I want to spend time doing it and have a company that will create linkwheels for me, but don't want to spend the $$ if it isn't worthwhile now.

Feedback?

I have not look at it recently, but there are guys over in the WSO section still selling information relating to linkwheels:

That does not mean that you should buy that WSO (I have not studied it in detail). I suggest that you send that seller a PM and just ask you question.

If you are planning to provide unique content for each wheel, then it is going to add value and effective to bring more traffic to your money site.

It is about providing value rather then trying to trick Google to send you some traffic

Link Wheels Still Work...Just Don't Make Your Business Dependant Upon Them.

I have dozens of rankings that are built with link wheels, but they are mainly to for ranking satellite sites.
  • The Satellite sites build my list to drive more people to my main site.
  • They supplement my income with affiliate sales.

I like the model of a main blog, surrounded by satellite sites, which have link wheels around them.

The link wheels don't point to your main blog.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll ask the company I'm thinking about using. At least maybe making sure each article is spun and unique.

Doesn't even matter with it being unique. It just needs to be relevant, and being relevant means backlinks to it. Link wheels are the best way around "duplicate content"

Gotcha. But, I'd think the relevancy would be a given since linkwheels are built around specific keywords, no?

Its all about anchor text and back links. Link wheels work because everything is being linked to another. There are better ways to do it than others, but all you need is to have links going to everything and you will be fine.

I have a system that works for every site that I have tried it on.

Linkwheel is just a tool. Google determines the ranking based on the quality of your site..

I think that you're losing a lot of juice. Properties are linking out to each other too much. You don't need it to be that complex, you're just losing a lot of juice.

I'm with Rusty here. All my linkwheels point to supporting sites or satelite sites as Randy calls them.

I learnt early on not to link them to your main money site so as to protect them from any nasties.

Just read 'Revenge of the Mininet' by Michael Campbell for inspiration. If you do it right linkwheels will never get out of fashion.
