Killer SEO!!! If your life depended on it, who would be your SEO of choice?

I'm launching a new business in about 10-12 weeks which is going to be a pretty serious operation for me.

This is the first time i've known about it well in advance....most opportunities just happen but this has been planned out over a longer period than most things I end up involved in.

Got some stuff planned social media wise that i hope will get some viral growth and have just taken ownership of a domain I bought as i believed for the money it was a good buy and a domain i could build a brand around.

But i'm looking at SEO now and I'm thinking if i don't launch for 3 months I could really hit the ground running.

My seo knowledge is pretty good over 9 years but not good enough for this and it takes too much of my time and ends up working well but with no speed.

I've had some nasty experiences in the past with hiring the job out but i consider i've been bloody unlucky and am due for a good experience

Who is your favourite SEO person or company and why?

And closer to home, who do you think is the best SEO'er or company on this forum and why?

Love to hear your feedback and i am looking at hiring someone to help me kickstart this thing soon.....I'm already laying out massive dollars everywhere so it wont be a huge spend at this stage...but i'm not naive, it's going to cost a few bucks for one of the best + results.

You should outsource your work. You will see that there are many talented and skilled people that you can only dream of. Of course the filtering part is hard.

I recommend hiring workers from Philippines.

I just want to add that you must be the head of your operations at first.

In time you will find skilled workers that can handle supervisory task and will lessen your work as time pass by.

Thanks for that. I have done and am in the middle of doing quite a bit of outsourcing for various web based projects so i am familiar with it. This has been mainly through the big 2 freelance sites and most of that work is in India.

I've had some bad results but then again, 2 of the very worst things to happen were from the U.S. and U.K. and both were native to their countries so it happens anywhere.

I have been hearing a lot more about the Philippines lately though.

Re in general anywhere; If i thought i could get a genuine seo white hat superstar through outsourcing I'd be all over it but they don't seem to keen on the long term approach to seo things and it is hard to find the really good ones...well you find them but you cant tell coz they all pitch so well no matter where they come from....it's often just delivering results!

Yap there are many outsourcing sites where you can outsource for your business. Try at elance.com or Odesk. I heard they provide good workers for outsourcing.

Its very simple, Ask for samples of their work in similar niches or similar competitive markets, Dont jump into everything and do your research. An SEO is for life , not just for Easter

I don't believe you can go to odesk, freelance, script lance, any of those sites and have someone do great. Even with a VA, majority of them use programs, and it really isn't worth it in my opinion. I find the best way to get things done, is manually!

You make a simple but good point that's true in the mainstream SEO market, not sure i believe 75% of the outsourcing claims.

I'm almost 100% sure i want a traditional main stream SEO person or company who will do a good deal and get me great results. I won't expect India prices but then again i wouldn't pay a lot of the prices i see advertised on their sites.

The price gap between traditional SEO in any city western world and freelancers from India and other areas is often massive. I guess I'm trying to find someone who falls in the middle and TBH, it isn't easy and why i often do it myself when i'd prefer not to but i wont pay the insane high prices on one hand or hire someone who knows the same or often less than I do and doesn't really care at all???

I still don't know why i am so impressed but i think it's because thats what i am after every time i open WP but i don't quite get there, although i only leant wp 3 months ago but still that is clean and fresh and very good!

Hey I agree with you, and your right, whether its DeathEO or fixing your leaky tap, most times you are the best person for your stuff!

And i wasn't being saracastic either, i appreciate your answer regardless of if you were just mucking about, confidence is an awesome trait despite many people being threatened by it! Personally it makes me buy things from them which is bad around here

Thanks for purchasing it, I think you will find it to be helpful. Pretty much everything is something you COULD outsource. I would break it up in parts, have someone do press releases, have another do profiles, another do blogs, another social bookmarking, etc. You could do it like that reasonably cheap, but you will still have to manage the whole process.

best way is to see the company's results for other websites that they have promoted, that will show they know what they are doing, and make sure the keywords they have promoted are one's that generate traffic.

even my five year old son can rank for a keyword with no monthly searches

Maybe try out buying a membership at seobooks which supposed is interactive and you get to ask any question and get professional advice. Don't get me wrong, WF is a great resource but not everybody knows what they're talking about. Just like what I'm doing right now. The membership costs $300 a month but that's peanuts if it gets the job done.

Hi there, thanks for the info. Please don't take this the wrong way and I'm sure it isn't the case but I see this statement (the one in bold above) quite often and it always makes me suspicious as I would think the first thing an SEO'er would do is their own site to use as a testimonial.

From my point of view it makes it really hard to choose them as i see this on elance quite often. It's hard to choose someone who is meant to be an SEO expert with a site with no PR when i managed to get my own site to a PR5!

I know PR isn't the be all but it does indicate give you an idea.

As i said I'm sure it isn't the case with you but do you understand it makes it hard when you see all these dodgies on elance and freelancer saying exactly the same thing...they all claim to be too busy with jobs to SEO their own sites....it sends alarm bells ringing with me.

I'll have a look over the info you directed me to for sure though but it's something to consider for the future as it would make getting business far easier and makes it easier to sell yourself????

I get pretty busy working on other projects, and yes there are countless scammers on elance, but the fact that I have only taken on a few clients from their marketplace, done well over 120K worth of work and did a 9 month job for one client that worked out to a 90K seo contract tends to speak for itself. That website was just sold to AutoBytel for over 15 million USD last September...

And yes I know I should work on my own site, but word of mouth has kept me pretty busy...

Regardless best of luck, and I am sure you will have no problem finding someone far more qualified than myself...
