So what happened was I had a brand name domain that was ranking very high, but the vendor said I had to switch to a non-brand domain in order to continue making commissions from the product. However, I am allowed to use the brand in the extension, like generic.net/brandnamekeyword. In my original high ranking domain, I had all the important content on the homepage using wordpress, and there were multiple posts that I added over the course of a year. Now since I can't use my keyword in the top level domain anymore, I have to put all my important content on an inner page on the new domain so I can use the keyword as an extension in the URL. So what's the best way to go about doing this in order to maintain as much of my original ranking as possible? Should I just add all the content as a single post and basically make it a static page, or is there a way to make an inner page in wordpress act as the home page and have multiple posts? Thanks for any help! -Jon |

Why dont you just install wordpress in a directory of your new domain and then redirect the old domain to that directory , basically just moving the old site directly to a sub directory rather than having to redirect URL's That why you can tell google in webmaster tools that the site has moved locations, google will see its exactly the same site and it will make the transition much easier. |
