When this big algorithm took place in this week time, I checked out that plenty of big article directories and so on are big time hit reduced their 50% of traffic and 50% of traffic is very huge.. Ok..I agree people submitted the duplicate content in the ezinearticle and that is the reason Google slapped the ezinearticles and some other popular article directories... But I don’t understand why this happen to my very good website which I don’t have anything duplicate content and it is a regular every day updated content niche blog and I got more than 50% of dropped traffic in this week’s time..and I am going mad what to do. Because everything are unique and regular updated blog.. What makes me mad more that I have a website which is a blogger blog..see it is a bloggers blog and in that 70%of the content is duplicate content..and guess what nothing changed at all my traffic is same as it was before Google Algorithms change and what I am seeing is my traffic is increasing more..lol. I believe there is something wrong going on with Google because unique content cannot be slapped at all as I maintain the website and I have around more than 600 content on cell phone niche in local country I really don’t understand at all what is happening and what to do in future...cause I want my traffic back and no idea is coming in my mind what to do.. So guys do you think duplicate content is better or unique content based on my story.. What Google really want... |

I hear your frustration, things like that can be a pain in the *** for sure. And it proves that, truthfully, there's no real way for Google to achieve what they're hoping to. Software can't determine "quality", no matter how many variables you program it to look for... Since the bulk of my revenue comes from ads (PPC, Media Buys, etc), I tend to say "make the move away from SEO to something YOU control" right off. But I understand how fulfilling it is to develop a blog by creating great content, interacting with the readers, and enjoying the traffic growth from seeing it rank without spending a dollar. Google seems as confused as ever, and it certainly doesn't appear that it will get better soon. Much more likely to get worse. |

Firstly - did you do any sort of link building activity and if you did, what sort of methods did you use? If the sites you got links from were penalised then it might be your links that suffered, not Google mistrusting your actual content. Secondly, I know it's easier said than done, but you need to treat Google traffic as a bonus, because it can be pulled from you at any time. You site should be sustainable without Google traffic. Concentrate on lots of social media and other such traffic sources. Thirdly, keep going! And keep finding new ways of getting high quality and diverse links. With regular links and fresh content, Google will learn to trust your content. As CraigRC pointed out, software can't detect quality - it needs to perceive it from a range of factors. |

Google is not obligated to send traffic to anyone -- not for you, not for me, and not for anyone else either. Seek traffic from a multitude of websites, because anytime your business relies on third-party resources, you must protect yourself from any changes at those third-party resources. |

Technology moves, companies change strategies, software evolves (or recedes in this case). Bottom line: If Facebook, Google, or any other single source of traffic were to disappear tomorrow, your online income shouldn't be reduced to zero from it. If there's anything this most recent group of algorithm changes has taught most IMers, it's certainly that. | |

It's not about a software finding a quality or something I really don't understand what Google wants.. They says that Google wants to help users rather than anything as...but they need also think in the mind that for advertiser they became number one search engine so I don't know what don't give any value to advertisers.. I really don't mind what they want to change, obviously they need to change every single year because spammers are increasing day by day..but google need to mention properly what exactly they want from webmasters so we can also helps users to get what they want.. I hope you got my point what I am trying to say..so still thinking what Google wants.. |

Google has $25+ billion in the bank of we-don't-care-what-you-want. They are a business. They rock. They look after their customers and stock holders. They have the best minds in the business. Their android is now #1 in smartphones. They swallow up companies on a weekly basis. Are they mad? Yeah. And crazy. Paul |

Google hates sites that have popups on them and I do as well as millions of other people. Take the popups off, check your seo, make sure you have no dups and when you are sure your site is up to snuff then submit your site to google for a review. Thats advice from the horse's mouth.
