do i have to activate backlinks?

Hi guys im really new to SEO and im just wondering, after I get a backlink from say a forum profile or from social bookmarking do I need to do anything after to make sure that link get found by google?

Like just a few days ago I bought the 50 backlinks from paul and I used some of them but yahoo site explorer say that my inlinks are not going up, now since those are so new i figure they wouldnt be counted yet.

But about 2 weeks ago i submited my site to all of the sites on the social marker and im still not seeing those backlink on yahoo site explorer. and my site still hasnt budged on google and im thinking social book marking would help but like i said my site didnt budge

Yes, you can "activate" them by pinging the backlinks, pingfarm.com

you can create an RSS feed with all your links and submit them to RSS directories. This would get Google to index your links faster

Yeah, bad thing about it is that most will still never be indexed. Even RSS feeds, you're looking at about 10% being indexed.

First of all, Yahoo Site Explorer is not a good way to find out if your backlinks are indexed or not. Best way would be to search your backlink url in google to find out if Google indexed it.

And you can ping your bookmarks to accelerate indexing to some extent. Other ways is to create backlinks to your backlinks, submit your backlinks to RSS Feed Directories,...

A good way to increase that rate is to max the amount of urls to 20 per feed. Problem is when you have a big list of urls

okay cool

so what is the link that i need to ping?

if i made a forum signature my backlink do i ping the url that leads to where you can see the backlink in my forum profile?

if i made a site on the socialmarker my backlink do i go to where it ways "My markers" or whatever its called, i just go to where the ones i submitted are and ping that url?

and i have no idea what a RSS feed is or how i would go about making/submiting one of those

Once you have created your backlink. You can just share it on social media sites especially Twitter in order to get it index faster.

Simply focusing on the backlinks alone does not yield the results. they have to be of quality, and the site has to be supported by onpage optimization too.

First of all, Best way would be to search your backlink url in google to find out if Google indexed it.

You can have them pinged but really who knows when they will be crawled by search engines.

Probably sooner then normal but then again maybe it takes some time even after that to crawl it.

Agreed. Focus on contents building and qulity backlinks, to get Google indexed, try write one or two high quality articles and submit them to ezinearticles or articlebase, your website will get indexed soon.

After you get a backlink you should ping the domain were is at with pingler.com (free) and social bookmark it at imautomator.com (free)
