|  Title Changes Cause Big Traffic Decline - Should I Switch It Back?
So my website was getting about 3k visitors a day until I changed the page title a little during February only to see a serious decline in traffic once the new title was indexed (went down to about 1k a day). I'm just curious as to any advice anyone has? And particularly - should I change it back to the old one? |

Possibly could be the reason. You were probably ranking for the keywords you had in your title. Go ahead and change it back....Normally I would say wait it out, but thats about 66% loss in traffic.

If your using custom structure urls and they have been using the titles to append to the URL's then you may have altered the url and therefore backlinks and also the search engines will find they may have 404'd it and the url no longer exists when the visitors try to land onto your site. I'd personally get it back EXACTLY to how is was if this is the impact it has had to your website. |
