I'm looking at buying a domain that was online from 2004 to 2008. Will Google still see it as having history (as it relates to seo juice) even though it's been offline for 2 years?

I presume that your niche also relates to SEO and if yes, you will surely get some help in ranking your domain.

Thanks, No, it's a gift domain. I felt pretty sure that the history should still apply but wanted more feedback in here. |

lol... well, as usual, we have two completely different opinions on the matter. Anyone else want to chime in? It's an expensive domain and I don't want to get it wrong. |

Hi I´ve setup two sites for the exactly same niche and they use the same WP-theme. The colors are different. I target the same keywords and the articles are allmost the same. Site 1 is a new domain for around $10 setup in January. Site 2 is a 8 year old domain that I paid $38 for, setup in February. Site 1 has a few backlinks more. (The BLs had more time to show up) I´ve done the same backlinking for both of them. Site 1 had 139 visits the last 30 days. Site 2 had 4080 visits the last 30 days. Do the math. Christoph |

| I'm not sure Google ever officially released the fraction they use in calculating SERPs, all these numbers are just wild guesses and some will even tell it's 1/1,000... I just tell them, please don't give me that crap and tell you, people that say this are just self-proclaimed SEO experts (something they just off one used to death report).

There is a guy in one of my niches that bought a domain that was first registered in 1999. This guy actually had 2 other websites that were well designed, but never really made a thump in the SERPS. This guy came out of nowhere with the new site and started ranking (Highly) relatively quickly. Since then he has launched sites in other niches and I've noticed he hasn't really made much progress. I think the age helped this guy. Nothing that he has done has really suggested that he is some SEO whiz. |
