Default The Perfect MicroNiche

Hi:

I ran a search on Google for a product-
Let us call it XYZABC.

These are the results I got-

XYZABC - 69,600,000 results

"XYZABC" - 3,110 results

Also, there were no Google ads on the right side.

I want your opinion...

Is this a great micro niche or not?

Anything above 1000 exact search result with low competition and more than $1 CPC I think is good enough..

No Google ads is often a bad sign - is there really money to be made in this niche?

The numbers don't really tell us anything unfortunately. Nobody can tell you this is a great niche based on just the numbers - there are alot more factors to take into consideration.

When there are no ads on the right side of google it means no advertiser think the keyword is worth to pay money for. Bad sign!

So so chances are that you might get visitors to your site but they don't buy anything.

Ok. So can you give some examples of other factors?

How many exact monthly searches does it get? I'm assuming the numbers in your OP are competing pages and exact amount of competing pages using the keyword phrase.

No Google ads could mean it's more of an information seeking keyword than a buying keyword. For example:-

Information seeking keyword - best low calorie diet
Buying keyword - buy low calorie diet book

Either one can make money though, if marketed right. You should make the decision of targeting it based on how many organic searches it gets, how easy it would be to rank it, how you will get non organic traffic to it and how you will approach selling a product. There are so many factors

Yeah... The thing is, when nobody is paying for a keyword, it's usually because that keyword doesn't make them money.

The reason why competition exists is because there is something valuable to compete for.

As Liam said, it is probably not a buying keyword.

Do a bit of research on buying keywords if you need to, in order to stop you from wasting your time. However, considering we don't know the keyword ourselves, you may still want to give it a shot. But make sure you do your research. Good luck!

Looking for decent we designers...

Are you searching for a product name (eg: weight loss made easy) or a niche (eg: weight loss) ?

This is what you need to do to get more telling information:

Download SEO for Firefox plugin. Turn it on, and repeat the search without quotations (broad search). Pay no attention to the number of results. Rather, look at the SEO information displayed underneath the first 5 results. Are they high PR? How many "Y! Backlinks" (yahoo calculated) do they have? This will give you a better idea of how tough the competition is, as opposed to just how many random sites might be out there.

You also want to make sure that the keyword is searched enough, so head over to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and run your keyword using broad matching, phrase mathing, and exact matching. This might uncover some information about the lack of google ads in the search.

But, I still need help

According to all the info I have -
all I needed was to search Google in that way
(as I did above) -
that would give me a good microniche -

Now - am not sure.

TCrosby pretty much summed it up - you will need to check what your competition on page 1 of Google is for that keyword. If you're competing against large authority sites with high pr and lots of backlinks then ranking will be difficult, no matter how low the in quotes competition number is.

I purchased Matt Carter's Rapid Profit Formula a couple of weeks ago and its the best thing I've ever bought! He covers everything that you need to know and more. If I were you I would invest in some product that explains the important qualities of keywords. I've not bought any product that has taught me so much about SEO as this one does, but I'm sure there are others. But don't buy anything for $37 that says it is PUSH BUTTON and the software does all the work. TOTAL BS

Hope this helps and good luck in the future.

Veena, I am surprised no-one has mentioned running your keywords through SpyFu - the basic service is free and it will tell you roughly how many advertisers are bidding on those keywords and how much they are paying per click, though bear in mind this is for Adwords for Search, not the Content Network (i.e. Adsense). But still, it should give you SOME idea whether people are willing to buy traffic for these keywords. If not then it's probably a loser...

There is no "all you need to do" with niche-hunting - sometimes you can do all this and more and still get it wrong, with no real reason why. But following these tips should certainly increase the chances of finding a winner.

Hi:

I have been following whatever has been told to me here-
so far no luck.

I guess perhaps people do not want to reveal the true tricks.
