Hi, I started to hate one of my wp themes on a site. So I changed the theme. A few days later, I disappeared from the SERPs. I assume we are dancing because I'm still indexed. Anyway, is it coincidence or could there be a correlation between google crawling my site and noticing that a lot of the layout and code has changed so it wants to recalculate where to place me? thanks.

It is related. Think about how google parses websites; all it sees is HTML code. While your content may be the same, the html formatting and where content falls within the page is different. It will probably even out soon. But then again there are exceptions, because some themes are terribly optimized and some fantastically optimized. |
