My latest site which has been indexed in Google for just under 2 months is not doing well & I'm thinking it may be sand boxed. I'm using rank tracking software every other day to check my sites position in Google but it's not showing up within the first 100 positions. All my on page SEO is bang on & I've thrown a few links at the site, maybe I started link building to early... Anyone with experience in the Google sand box? Any ideas on how to get out of it? |

Is it in the sandbox or is it that your site isn't as relevant or doesn't have the quality of the site above it? Look beyond the top 100 results and find out if it is ranked. Do a search for a unique phrase in your article and see if it is being returned. If it is your main page not being returned: do a search for your domain name (minus the .com) and see which page comes first. It should be your homepage. If it isn't then there is a chance the homepage has been penalised or is in a filter. |

How competitive is the niche you're in? What sort of keywords are you trying to rank for? Other things such as on page seo, outgoing links and quality of your backlinks will all have an effect on the ranking of your site. If you're in a very competitive keyword market then you may be looking at months and months of constant high quality backlinking and solid content before you get anywhere. |

Hi Barry, Try using seoserp.com to check the top 1000 positions. Then you can see if you are making any progress beyond the top 100. Brian |

Was the site ever ranked high and then was dropped? If the site was never ranked well in Google then I wouldn't necessarily blame it on the Google Sandbox. Keep building the backlinks naturally and make sure the on-page SEO is on par.

At the end of the day, if you are in the sandbox, adding more content (quality!!!!!) and building some (yes quality) backlinks, will help. Remember it takes time to get strong natural rankings, if you keep working on it, you'll get the results you desire and more.
