Default What would you do in this situation??

Say you have... "BigBlueHats.com" and your ranked #4 on Page 1 of google for the keyword "Big blue hats"

you find out that "Blue Hats" has 5x more searches/month and your on page 1 of google in the #10 spot already.

The competition is fairly low..

Do you either..

1) make a brand spankin new website for the keyword "Blue Hats" and rank solely based on that keyword.

2) Use your already existing micro niche website that your ranked #10 on and try to gain a higher rank.

When trying to rank for keywords of such similarity, I always find it easier to use the same site.

Tip Re: What would you do in this situation??

I suggest to create a new domain to that particular keyword, then just re-direct it to your original website. Yes, you are on the top but the traffic is low, so it will not make money.right?

Keep going with the original site and just interchange some of your "big blue hats" backlinks with "blue hats" anchor text. Typically works for me. Don't waste your time with a new site that's similar because eventually you will favor one anyway.
