Hey everybody, Just did a little research and found these domains that are available right now for reg fee. playstation3headset.net - 2,400 exact searches a month, good competition, easy to monetize with Amazon babyclothingonline.org - 1,000 exact searches, evergreen market, monetize with Amazon, CJ.com, and others montblancfountainpens.com - 14,800 broad, 880 exact searches, enthusiast evergreen niche market, monetize with commission junction, amazon, ebay, and others. Build these sites up into little affiliate money makers and either keep them for yourself or sell them for a nice profit within a few months from now. Either way, learn by doing and have fun doing it! |

If they are that good, why didn't you buy them yourself and monetize them? Good luck to anyone who chooses to do this. |

Two of them have trademarked terms in them. I would stay away from that.

Thanks. Another good trick is to add a single letter to the end of any domain name. E.g. Playstationheadsetx.com. This is obviously not first choice, but it seems for most part a lot of the exact match domains are taken, so this is the next best option in my opinion.

You can check their competitions too. There is no point in buying when they keywords in the domain are very competitive.

Yah I don't think domains with brand names on them should be used. Then again if some people have success with that then I'm happy for them. Pretty risky though. |

There are a few exceptions above, but maybe the title should be: "A few domain names that will get you sued right now..." |

In one article of the search engine land I think I read that the in this year Google may introduce an algorithm which will not consider the domains for the ranking of the website. Is it true? and if it is true why should somebody buy such domain |

Alot of those domains are worthless due to trademark infringement,in theory they look great in practice they may become a nightmare.

It's unlikely anyone would actually get sued. Normally they send a C&D and then demand that the domain be transferred to them. It's really not worth going after some loser sitting in the dark in his mom's basement trying to make $3 a day. The big risk, as I see it, is that once you start making money it is entirely possible that you'd lose the domain and then all of your work will have been for nothing.

Google will always consider the domain for the ranking, just not as strong as we are used to. But you will be fine if you have a quality site with quality content, because that is what Google is interested in.

| Are you sure? So I buy a trademarked domain and when they come up to me with C&D notice, I can turn round and say, "Yeah, no worries Time Warner, that'll be $50,000, for the domain you in fact own through Trademark". Or have I missed something? |

| What it's "worth doing" isn't really relevant, Rich. They have a legal obligation to defend their trademark if an illicit usage of it comes to their attention, and if they fail to do so, that can be and will be held against them in future, in proceedings which may be far more significant. The registering of a trademark confers obligations as well as rights. It remains "their trademark" only if they defend it, mom's basement or no mom's basement.

Yes, you here a lot about people just receiving a C&D letter and all is well except lost time and effort (still not good), but there are many times people actually get sued for $50,000, $75,000 or up to $150,000 for using these methods. Those people won't come here and tell that story because their life/business just got ruined. So when you say their is NO BIG RISK, I wonder if you have that kind of money sitting around plus attorney fees to just write it off and move along. That loser making $3 will possibly make more one day and want to buy a house or car or something in his lifetime and it is hard to do that with a $100,000 judgment attached to him. So just because one "thinks" it is ok, reality is it is better to 'know' what the laws and consequences really are. Check with an attorney and see what they say.

Yes this, if you are going to make a site which is going to cause some attention then try contacting the company and ask for permission. I don't think this would work if you are planning to sell the product on your site, but it worked for me when creating a fansite for a particular video game which will have advertising on the side for the product. But it looked more like a resource/fan site so they were ok with it.

| $50,000 is a bit ambitious. I've done it several times without issue for $1000. It's just easier and faster for them to do it that way.

Apart from the trademark problems as pointed out, these domains are very, very average in terms of traffic potential. You've got to consider more than just search and results data (and search numbers can be unreliable at best depending on what tool you're using, including Google Adwords Keyword Tool). If you're playing the organic traffic game you've got to consider who owns the #1-3 spots (at least) because this is the only place you'll get the traffic. Take the suggestions in this thread and the top 3 results are brand name sites with a lot of trust and authority (especially if you were going after a trademark). |

But I don't think these ones are that great for a couple of reasons: "montblanc..." and "playstation3..." are both brand names and as already pointed out, very risky to try to use for your business. I wouldn't risk it. As for the other "BabyClothingOnline.org": -This does not have a brand name in it (as far as I can see, lol). Good. BUT -while there are 1,000 exact global searches, there are only 170 exact local searches. I don't like to see that wide of margin between global and local. Monetization? And as far as monetizing "babyClothingOnline.org", it only has an estimated avg. cpc of $.69. So I personally wouldn't try to rank for "Baby Clothing Online" if I was only going to get (possibly) a piece of 170 searches a month to earn $.69 a click with adsense? Say you get half. (85) and you get 10% of those visitors to click on ads, that's 9 x $.69. About $6.00/month. And I don't think you could make much more money trying to monetize this another way. Amazon commish would be too low. As far as using it as a keyword rich domain, I'm seeing a lot of related results with the keyword "baby clothing" at $0.05 cpc. For me it's a red light. And I'm not trying to dog or complain about the research you've done for us. I'm just saying that these don't appear to be that valuable yet. But I DO appreciate the time you've put in! Again... I'm not trying to be a jerk or a wise guy... And I STILL could be wrong. Maybe some one could make a lot of money with these domains? I'm not a wizard, I'm just giving my 2 cents.
