| EDIT:Problem solved, site got indexed within 24 hours of my submission. Thanks guys! Hi Warriors, I started building a site today, did (seemingly) everything right, and its taking unusually long for the Google spiders to find it and index it. I'd appreciate any suggestions. I won't show the page or post the URL because I know the warrior forum admins might think it was spam-my, so here are the basics: It is a clean, Wordpress-powered review theme. Its got the basics of SEO down, with the main keyword in the title, all over the pages and articles, etc. Quality copy, nothing recycled, and affiliate banner pictures(my affiliate links are not yet attached). It is set in Wordpress to be shown to search engines, I have all the pertinent plug-ins, and there are no links leading out except for one which links to a wikipedia page for a pertinent keyword. I submitted the site to Google and Digg, then to a couple of pinging directories. It has been about 6 hours now, and with everything I've done, that seems to be waaaay to long. When I type in the url on google, I get 6 results, all from pinging sites, none from the search engines. Any suggestions warriors? I need to get this indexed so I can move forward with it. Thanks |

I wouldn't panic yet. Getting your site in 24-48 hours is the usual (if you do things right). I noticed you are a war room member. This is good because there is some great free indexing software there (gets my new sites indexed within 24 hours). I would go into the war room and download them and use them. (This is a good reason to join the war room, for those that have not done so already). Look for a war room thread by TrafficMystery. That piece of software should get you going. Regards -Simon |

Geez now I've heard everything. 6 hours and your site isn't in Google yet? Good grief. It could take days, weeks, months, who knows??? Seriously, calm down. Wow.

Don't panic, it took me months to get my first site indexed back in 2006. I didn't know that including a link from a high PR site would have helped me out a great deal back then. Have some patience and wait for at least 48 hours. Just forget about it being indexed for now and continue on with your work and it will happen faster naturally.

![]() The last 3 sites I built and submitted this exact same way were all indexed with Google within an hour of submission. You may not be used to those kinds of results, and you may be fine with a site taking "days, weeks, months, who knows" to get indexed, but I have higher standards for my work and business. Positive suggestions welcome guys, anyone with insight please chime in. | |

Give it 24-48 hours of time as this is the timeframe that it usually takes to index, some just index faster.

If your site is not old, or exactly a new site. There would be a period that Google check your site roundly. Or maybe then content of your site is not friendly to search engine, mostly the keywords are not used properly.

Did you submit via google webmaster tools? The latest version of wordpress disables your site from being public and you need to disable that function, are you sure you did that. I missed that last time i built my wordpress site only found out about it through google webmaster tools. Tweet some posts and bookmark them, that has immediate effect. Ping as well... It was finally indexed after a 48 hours. If you still have problems, pm .e Thanks |

Just wait a day and see how it goes, if you really want, you can throw some social bookmarks on it to speed it up dramatically.

Okay, Mr Simon! So, What I understand is that war-room membership is beneficial in respect of getting indexed easily through the software available there. Am I right? |

Yahoo will take up to 2 months to index. Google may take up to 2 weeks. I think. |

It took me a lot longer to get indexed in Yahoo and Bing - they still haven't indexed a lot of my articles after a few months. Google on the other hand, has been an easy index for me - I simply do this for each of my articles:
On a brand new site, it may take longer, but my brand new sites were indexed within 4 hours up to 48 hours, depending. Hope this helps. |

Just ping your website / pages. One of the trick is you don't ping to too many ping servers, 10 will do the trick just fine, too many at a time don't seems to work now, at least for me.

Hello: It may get in the index quickly if you are lucky, but I have found it usually takes 4-6 weeks to really start showing high in the results. And that is if you have done everything correctly... chosen the right keywords, on page SEO, off page SEO, etc. |
