Has anyone done any tests if specific link color of the adsense ads results in significantly higher CTR? I'm especially interested in cases when the link color of the ads matches the link color on the site as well. |

| This is generally how most IMers setup Adsense. Match the colors of the ads to blend in with your site. From everything I've learned as far as color matching, this is considered the norm.

The default adsense color provides the best click through rate for my major websites as they are all in white backgrounds. However, you should use a similar color of your site so visitors won't notice they are ads.

Yes, use HTML color code #000080 for the title of the link for your ad blocks, it outperforms other shades of blue by a long shot...

my ads are always matching the site colors but i was asking if someone has experimented with different color all together. For example all green links for the ads and for the site links against all blue ones? have you noticed significant differences ever? |

I have found using the same color as your site to work the best, and if you can't do that or if you have a white site, use blue.

Hi Fking, I think you may have the wrong idea about using colors for your ads. What I have learned is that there is no color, nor best practice, that will always give best results. Things will vary based on so many different factors that whatever applies to one website often does not apply to the next. In some cases matching colors works best, but using the exact same theme and color scheme on a different niche gives you very different results. I have found in some cases making your ads stand out by using the highest contrasting colors has shown far superior results. The bottom line is that you must test, no two websites will ever perform exactly the same, except by coincidence. |
