Your off site SEO in the form of inbound links to that website with those keywards as anchor text will greatly help your efforts.

I really have to stress out the importance of on-page optimization. It will make you off page work less since it will already rank high fast.

Any particular reason you did not use .co.uk extension for your domain, that could have given you a slight advantage in Goole UK. But I think you have done quite well already as with ‘Builders in Southampton’ you are on no 9 in Google UK already, so whit some quality link building you should be able to get it quite high up. |

![]() As to the .co.uk extension I must admit that was simply habit If a new domain is purchased and switched over to the site how can this affect the current rank? will it cause more damage than its worth? Also we wanted the site to get as high as possible in the rankings so went with the keyword domain would having the company name affect the ranking also? Thanks | |

| I have had few .co.uk sites and it seemed like it was given preference in Google UK but there is so many variables so who know. Just re-direct the .co.uk version to you current site so you don’t loose any type in traffic that way and it should be alright. No need to switch the domains now as your site seems to be doing very well already.
