Default Bought backlinks, what about pinging them?

So I have been buying backlinks and I am happy to let them be found slowly, but what is the consensus if I were to drop, say a few hundred into pingdevice every day and ping the list that was sent to me?

Or should I just leave things alone?

My site is 9 years old, my competitor has 26,000 backlinks that show on SiteExplorer, I show 600. I've never built links before so I'll guess these links are natural and old.

I am wondering about this as I want to keep my link velocity even.

I like to do something to get them indexed. I have a index farm that helps me with that. Probably launching a WSO on the issue

I've been reading up, but I am not sure can pinging be a bad thing? Should I ping all 5,000 links I just bought now? A week? A month?

Probably wouldn't ping them all at once, but even if you did, only a tiny fraction will get indexed unless you do some work to get them indexed, such as RSS feeds, Backlink Energizer, etc. Despite what people think, Google doesn't just eventually 'find them naturally' - you're lucky if 5% of them get indexed if you leave them alone.

Thanks John. That's good to know. I'm surprised that the number would be so low as 5%.

So I can safely ping 1-2K per week and I'm ok? When can pinging be a bad thing? And can I keep pining the same links the following month?

You really have to find a way to get your backlinks found especially if they are profile links.

For blog comment links it will depend on the PR of where your link is. The higher the PR the more frequent google crawl the page. It means your link will be found faster.

Ann, can you ping profile links as well? I guess you can pink any link, right?

What is a good site for pinging 100 at a time?
