I am currently using articlebase.com but I am thinking if I should send my articles to other article directories platform such as ezinearticles or articledashboard, HubPages or even Squidoo. My main goal is to drive traffic to my website via SEO. Thanks! |

My advice would be to submit to as many different article directories as you can as well as creating content on web 2.0 properties. Maybe use some of the articles to pump up your 2.0 properties and create a little tiered linking. Just my .02. |

I have submitted to Ezine, Articlbase, and Article alley. The only hits I get are from Ezine. Though I have submitted the most to them.

I usually use ezinearticles, goarticles, suidoo and hubpages to place articles that contain links to my main site. And also I use one subission tool to post articles to 100-500 minor article dirictories. This articles contain links to main site and to 4 top article site.

I would definitely send to those other directories you mentioned, and more. Some article directories allow you to post articles to them that has already been posted elsewhere, so in those cases you've got nothing to lose - and no extra work to do - by posting them in other places at least to check what the results are. ~Ruth |

I think article base is a waste of time, but if you can get 1 click a month out of it, it's worth it.. lol j/k |

Well...It all depends. If your purpose is simple low PR backlinks, then by all means send your articles to a long list of directories. Mason World has a nice list of directories sorted by rank here: Article Directory List | Article Directory Rank | MasonWorld Late Night Internet Marketing If your purpose is to get higher PR backlinks, you would be better using limited directories, and pursuing syndication partners who have high ranking blogs or websites. EzineArticles should probably top your list. If your purpose is to get targeted traffic from as many sources as possible, then use a combination of syndication to partners, leveraging some of your content onto article directories, Web 2.0 sites, turning it into videos, and even PDF files for document sharing sites. Always keep in mind, article directories may have good PR, but your article starts off at PR 0. Only if you build backlinks to the article is it likely to climb. If you are going to build backlinks to the article, wouldn't you prefer doing it to a copy on your own site? Just a thought.... And if you're wondering...I use both syndication and leverage my content. It is not the same content for those two purposes. The best quality always starts on my own site and then is placed into my syndication funnel. The average content is used for spreading around to a wider variety of sites, including additional sites I own which are not at the end of my SEO funnel. (I usually have 2 to 3 extra Wordpress blogs for any niche I am pursuing seriously, using pen names, and often highly opinionated content.) With all of that said...Even when I send articles to additional directories I limit it to only a handful which include GoArticles, Articlesbase, EzineArticles, and a random mix of others from the top 15 on the Mason list. The only two I see any real results from are EzineArticles and Articlesbase. I do almost zero backlinks to articles on directories. I will at times run them through Socialbot from Incansoft to bookmark them on EZA. For any directory I use I submit the author's RSS feed and ping it after updating content. I probably said a lot more than you were really looking for.... Barry |

Thanks all...I am after the traffic source rather than PR. In fact, I want my articles appear on Google. So, is it ok to just submit to ezinearticles and my site?

Apart from EZA etc. and often overlooked is the best directories to use can often be directories built around your niches. It isn't a waste of time for me. Articlesbase does really well for getting my articles syndicated and that's what directories were meant for.

Traffic directly from article directories will not be very high in most situations. When you mentioned SEO previously I assumed you meant to increase rankings for content on your own sites. If this is the case, then PR is HIGHLY RELEVANT. A few high PR links is going to greatly outweigh an army of PR0 links. If you are wanting to go the route of getting your articles on EZA to rank highly you will need to build backlinks to them, which will build their PR. The PR on those articles can be beneficial to your own site, assuming you build backlinks to other content, not the identical content on your site. The reason I like syndication is because then building backlinks usually falls on the shoulders of the site owner, not me.

I always submit my articles to the top 20 or 30 article directories. I also make a short video announcement about the article then submit the video to video directories. |

Am new here, i am just wondering how much love and efforts you give on these directories. I have a question like after recent Google algorithm change, Ezine is behaving strangely. And all the responses on this thread are after that change. But the affection to ezine is still the same explaining the reasons. Ok, so ezine is changing them in a new way, what are your tips on it.

Pick the top 5 and make sure you spin the content. Make sure the article you're using has already been indexed if it's on your site.

For example, i just posted my articles on my site www.lossweightinfo.net, does it mean i can still submit these same articles to article directories and they will accept it. Or, do we make some changes to it b4 it will be accepted? I will appreciate a reply. Thanks

It would be much better if you will submit your article to different article submission sites. It will have a greater chance of getting more traffic.
