Default AdSense blocks allow on page?

A discussion came up between a few friends and it was suggested that the rules state three text blocks, and three link units are allowed. So one of us wanted to add an AdSense banner add to the mix.

When I suggested that this would put it over the limit, he stated that as this was a banner ad it didn't violate the three text ad limit.

Anyone got any authoritative information on who is right in this discussion?

Default Re: AdSense blocks allow on page?

As per Google policies Tim you are only allowed 3 Ad blocks, 3 link units and 2 Search bars.

That being said with the panda update I suggest that you use the Google Adsense heat map and place one ad block in a hot spot for your type of ad.

Hope that helps.
