If you are in the IM niche, adswaps, free WSOs, ezine ads.

Outside of IM would be PPC (Adwords, fb ads), but not easy to do. Get hold of some written guides about it before you start.

PPC is by far the most effective. It's not that difficult to make a serious amount of cash from it either. This is all I've done for the last few years and I haven't looked back. I recommend pay per lead in the finance market. I get paid up to $130 per application in insurance, loans and debt management etc. It really is still quite easy to make it in what many would say is a crowded market, with a little guidance along the way

Thank you all for the replies, I get some traffic from seo, but like 1 or 2 visits a day and some days zero. I might just try PPC, or just do article marketing I am on a very tight bugdet, hey keith what is pay per lead is that similar to cost per action?

People often overlook niche forums. Find 5 or so that are active in your niche, make sure they allow signatures, and get posting. Avoid spamming the forums. Instead, become a regular poster by helping others, asking questions, etc. Traffic will start to roll in instantly.

After a few days of consistent posting you'll start to see a pretty steady number of visitors hitting your site each day. This is still my favorite (and cheapest) way to build a list. Your visitors are usually extremely targeted if they're willing to read and click your signature link.

When you implement article marketing make sure that it is SEO friendly such as using low competition keywords, good keyword density, and keyword placement on the article. I have done blog commenting but this method is very time consuming. Another method is profile linking but I'm not sure if it still effective. Well, those are some of the method I've been using and I see my SERP go up a slowly but surely.

I agree with PPC, PPC is the fastest way to get traffics but you need a deep pocket to do it.

The total of traffic coming from PPC ads on Google is only 4%. The remaining 96% comes from the organic links, meaning I'd put a bit effort into proper SEO and keyword research.

The fastest way (if you have a udget) is solo ads. Paid media and solo ads gives you loads of traffic for a very short time, until your next solo ad. But you're sure it's very targeted traffic...

Forum post is also fast for example, post that you are having a contest giveaway and link to your blog/website and you will get traffic (assuming this is allowed in the forum you posted on). Like what people do on here, free WSO posts. That's fast traffic.

Try article submition. But it's not easy to write realy good interesting and what is tha most important - unique article. Insert few backlinks in it and further submit your article to most popular directories such as ezine, goarticles...... Best free or paid way to get traffic fast, (depending on what your niche is) is social marketing. I like Twitter. I've got a new site, three or four months old, and I've made about five sales of ten bucks each just from my Twitter followers, plus got some Fiverr gigs, sold a few touch pens, and got advertising revenue. I'm starting to do better on Google as I add blog posts and make back links, but I have my Twitter followers for good, and I can use them again and again on anything. Instead of spending hours a day clicking a button on Twiends, which I do while watching TV in bed on my iPad, you can get me to tweet for you if you want. I have over 50,000 followers, and growing every day.

Not true. If he knows how to pick buying keywords he will. Depends on where the traffic comes from and how targeted it is. It could be free traffic from craigslist and as long as the people are interested in what he's selling, sales aren't hard.

Using google adwords is surely the fastest way to get traffic to a website. The only problem is that it can be short live and get expensive, depending on how much money you have and are willing to invest.

I think that this works best on websites that provide a great paid service that people are willing to pay for.

I would recommend to take the slower route and focus on regular Search Engine Optimization work. If done properly it can provide a steady stream of traffic over time.
