Yes sites in Spanish, and many other languages can be very profitable. Many of my friends hire a translator and make copies of there sites for other languages. It is like expanding to a whole new customer base. Just have to make sure your product or topic is still relevant.

I noticed a WP plugin today that was for translations. I wonder how they work (i.e. do they translate on screen or create separate posts in whatever language they are for)? I speak Spanish, but I suck at writing it, so I'd be hesitant to try and translate my own articles. I do like the idea of a multi-lingual site though, and I'd also like to learn more about making the site accessible for hearing and sight impaired people.

Auto translaters are not worth your time if you are serious about getting into a niche in a foreign language. No matter how good an auto translator is, it will mess up just enough on the grammar for the reader to be a bit confused and search for a clearer answer elsewhere.

I have a couple of sites in Spanish and they are doing good. What I like is that it is easier to rank for highly searched keyword phrases. I would stick to the main health and wealth niches, however. |

Im currently building niches sites in spanish and starting to see good results in the health and finance niches... so yeahh I do not recommend using a translator for the content, really, its better to hire someone to translate them (spanish is my first language) |
