I re-designed my website and got rid of some web pages but whenever i search in google this pages still come up. Is there any way i can flush them?

Are these pages on the same website? Best thing is to do a custom 404, with links to parts of your website. This is a good practice anyway. You could do a 301 redirect for them as well, but if they are numerous, it would be quite a task. No reason to not go with the flow! The more ways people get to your site, the better. Paul |

If you don't want your old page to appear on google, then you can ask google to deindex that pages. You can find it the the link below. www . google . com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=164734 |

There is no reason to not want the old pages to appear in google. Do the 404, B I N G O ! Common practice. There are some rare reasons as to not want old pages to appear. But if they changed, moved, or you just deleted them, there is no reason to want them to not appear. The 404 will give a plethora of options for the visitor to go to. If they are now appearing in SERPs, why cut off that flow of traffic? Eventually, they won't appear. But get some bonus traffic in the mean time. Paul |
