Is is a terrible idea to use content from Ezine or other directories to add some content to my site. I know that it would be considered duplicate content, but I would just be using it as a filler--or should I avoid these type of articles altogether?

Avoid them altogether if you want to rank in search engines.

Instead do it the other way round. Use your content, take some points from it and make out a new article. Then submit it to ezine to get juicy backlinks!

Wow. thank you for the fast response. I have to write which is why I thought of this. Im considering using a talk to text program. I can speak on my niches better than I can write about them

| Yes, you can use content form article directories very successfully. Of course not all the articles are the best quality but if you take some time you can still find many good quality articles. Using content from article directories can be really helpful if your site is new and you need some content or if you have found some great article that your visitors might be interested in.

I'm just curious if the people that advised against using content from Ezinearticles on your site have ever tried it themselves or if they are just saying not to do it because it sounds like the right thing to say. If I were trying to get a page on my site to rank I would probably play it safe and write my own content but if you're just trying to add some content to your site to make it look a little more substantial I don't see anything wrong with using content from an article directory. That's what the directories are for after all, they're for syndicating content. |

Here, I don't want syndicated content but I want the content from Article directory which is posted manually with a credit of links of writers and then this article would be optimized by my self.

I think there's nothing wrong to it. However, if you really want to get the most out of SEO, then do it the other way around. Contribute to Ezine articles and only post unique content in your site. Google does not penalize duplicate contents, it just don't counts for your ranking. So better add something to it without violating the terms of Ezine articles so that it will not be counted as duplicate content. |

"then this article would be optimized by my self" is totally ridiculous. You can spin the whole article, but that's not the same as what you said you are doing. Too many people misread duplicate content, unique content, syndicated content, etc. comments by google and take them completely out of context. There are perfectly acceptable ways of using all of them. Using an ezine article would be just fine. However, if you have 1,000 articles, and they are all EZA, your site has no value. Paul

Before you get busted by search engines, better to avoid that. Much better if you make your content on your own.

On my sites I like to have a good amount of unique content but fleshing out a site with some sydicated content is not going to get you in trouble.

| It's out of Search Engine's standards. For you to have a good reputation and a good rankings, you should make your own content for your site. There are many benefits that you can get from having a unique content. |

| Sure there are benefits to creating your own unique content but some people are making it sound like Google will slap your site into oblivion if you syndicate a few articles and that's just not the case.
