Default How much work should my dedicated SEO guy be doing a day?

Hey Guys (and Gals ),

My site just got live and now it is time for phase 2 - The SEO portion of things.

I am wondering realistically just how much work that i should be expecting my dedicated SEO guy to be doing for me.

Day #1 he:

Built 8 "quality" backlinks

Did 5 Social Bookmarking

Does this sound like a realistic workload for a fulltime person?

Any suggestions as to what else I should be having him do?

THank-u in advance

What type of backlinks are the "quality" backlinks? Unless they're 500 word unique articles, then no, that's not much work at all. Unfortunately, it is quite realistic, as these guys often work "full-time" for multiple people at once.

I am now taking on full-time SEO clients. PM me for more information.

Thanks Mike - no not at all 500 word articles - just a couple of sentences that were pasted from my site. Realistically how long does it take to create a link? And I suppose to check the quality I need to check on the Page Rank of those sites?

With that being said any idea how many hours it would take this individual to do what I posted?

I appreciate your response - I am paying this guy alot of $ (relatively speaking)

To be quite honest, I could do more than that in an hour.

I don't look at how much work anyone does - all I care about is results.

If someone takes 40 hours to get the same results as someone else does in 2, and you pay them the same, what difference does it make? I pay on results.

Once upon a time, there was a family that one time in the dead of a cold and blistery winter night, their furnace stopped working. As the children huddled by the oven to get warm, they called the furnace guy who came right over.

He was an old guy that didn't move very quick, and scratched his head and hemmed and hawed alot. He finally looked at the family and said "Yep. This will cost you $750."

They gladly paid this man who then went very carefully, to one section of the furnace, angled his hand, and deliberately struck it with just the right amount of force.

Boom! The furnace turned on and the family had heat.

The father was outraged. "How can you charge us $750 for 5 minutes of work???!!!!"

The old guy scratched his head and thoughtfully looked at the father and the rest of the family and said...

"It's taken me hours of study of years of experience to know where and how hard to hit that furnace to get you your results"

Is your SEO guy getting you your results in the time frame he said he would? If yes, then you have your answer.
