Here are a few things you need to see: 1. I'm #5 beating 18,000,000 competing web pages. But I'm not getting traffic to my ranked page. Why? The keyword has a DAMN low search volume. 2. Next, if the KW has a significant amount of searches, you need to see if there's an actual market out there for the niche. 3. If 1. and 2. are true, you need to get #1 ranking, not page 1 to make real money. 4. You can promote products as an affiliate, or put up ads out there. 5. Grow your site/blog towards the keyword, and eventually, the niche the keyword lies in. How long have you had the website? You must have done something to get to page one. Well whatever has got you there, try to promote some affiliate products and make some money. |

Agreed promote, promote, promote. Assuming your keyword has a decent amount of search volume and you are not just wasting your time! Make sure to check that first. I can't tell you how many times I have ranked for keywords in the hundreds instead of thousands just because I clicked the wrong search function! To your success |

As others said, first put something on that page right away, even if it's only an article with some AdSense. Then work on getting somethign better. Since we don't know what you are ranking for, it's hard to make suggestions, but here are a couple of ideas: - create an opt-in page and get a list going: you'll be able to monetize it later - add one or more affiliate links (images too) Good luck! |

Could be no searches, If it gets searches, make your site more lively and 'worth staying' instead of the old 1990's layout, that should help. BR, -S |

There are a number of factors that depend on proper keyword! According to my Favourite program, Market Samurai, even though it's a bit sluggish, it gives a ton of ideas. SEOT - searches per month at 1st position of Google SEOC - number of competition searches for that given keyword PBR - phrases to broad ratio of that keyword. Switch between Broad/phrase/exact keyword matches top-10 competition for a given keyword with things like backlinks, # of indexed back links, PR, domain age, etc! Do your research, before you do anything else! Cheers! |

This is why Keyword Research is very important and a great part of SEO. You need to know where the traffic is first before developing any website to monetize. And once thats done, create an html site but don't add the house. Simply lay the foundation like I'm doing here See Luxury Real Estate - let the search engines come to you instead you go to them. And after a week or so go to the search bar and type in your entire domain name. If its listed on the first page then you've done good but not done. Create a blueprint of what you want your site to look like and then develop. A good living house is not build in one day so take your time. Once construction is over then add your appliances (relevant content) then add utilities (seo, backlinks, etc.) then go outside and do the landscape (advertise your site). Do it right and you'll definitely get to top 5 with nice traffic. |
