Default The Google Panda Update – anyone effected?

I'm just wondering if anyone has felt the effects of Googles recent algorithm update called "Panda"?

Yes, EzineArticles is affected! They are claiming 30% traffic loss and rumor says, they lost 90% Google likability. And rumor is true, always. CK is now modeling in video posts, on the site blog, with fake smile, red face. I have teased him on that page! You can do the same if you want. The sin of 'template article' is not forgettable nor forgivable.

Yes. My traffic to my article websites is up across the board.

My Google traffic has increased from 35% to 100% on my various sites.

I have noticed a dramatic drop in keyword-rich nonsense disguised as articles. It is a major breakthrough for the "real" article writers who have consistently submitted quality content.

I saw my entire network of hubs (one year of consistent work) go down the drain. Other than that I haven't really been affected negatively. Two of my "authority" sites gained some positions on page one and sales have been up, up, UP!

My traffic is actually way up since the algorithm change. Quite a few of my sites rankings improved (especially the inner pages).

My Ezinearticles traffic is about the same - I didn't really see any change in where my articles rank.

Yes, I've also benefitted to some extent.

In my sphere (article marketing) the whole thing is basically good news for people doing article marketing rather than article directory marketing.

Of course, there are wider benefits for the web overall, and people's experiences of using it, too.

My sites are fine, but a few of my articles on EZA were affected. They dropped 10-15 spots, on average, and they came back to where they were over the next couple of weeks.

Some of my sites have gone up the rest about the same. I'm seeing more positive results from ezine articles. My last 2 articles have done better than any of my articles have done for a long time on there. The last was accepted today after just 4 days and I'm gobsmacked at how many more views and clickthroughs it's got and so quickly. Who said article marketing was dead!!

Is anyone doing anything more than searching for a good keyword, and posting a unique article to a article directory, such as EZ? is anyone pushing back links to them or anything like that? for me, this is the first to hear about the update, but none of my sites have been affected.

I don't push backinks to them. The articles get placed on my sites first and I push backlinks to those.

As we have heard that they and articlesbase have been removing articles it makes even more sense to link back to your own sites rather than other people's.

You should always link to your site. Plus, you should also link to other properties (articles, web 20) that point back to your site as well.

As for article marketing. It's only one way amongst dozens of others to drive targeted traffic to your website.

Do both.

Regards,
Franck

I have purposely avoided anything to do with blackhat backlinking all these while.

All are whitehat, e.g. article marketing (with no spinned articles).

My sites are not affected at all.
