|  Pinging Hi again to all, Everywhere i go there is this thing about pinging. Could somebody please explain with more info .When do we have to ping our site? For example do we ping d o m a i n . c 0 m or d o m a i n . c 0 m / example or do we ping both. Also do we ping the newly created profiles we create on web2.0 sites ? |

Pinging basically tells the search engines a certain site has updated some type of information. So this could possibly help you with what ever your doing but people spam it out so much, im not sure if it really helps. When ever I ping anything, I goto pingler [dot] com. Fill out my website like: http : // www [dot] mysite [dot] com (w/o the spaces) |

I would put a list of ping sites in your WP blog, so it pings them automatically. Also, I would recommend pinging profiles 2 weeks after you've built them.

The purpose of pinging your site is to make it index by search engines.

Pinging just lets Google and SEs know that your website exists and that you made an update. You don't need to go crazy and drop 500 pings or use the 2500 Backlink Indexing Tool.

Yea just focus on building more links for now. You can ping the links later on in a few weeks if they aren't indexed.
