Default Backlinks confuse me?!

Hi, I'm new -

Please help me out with understanding backlinks!

I've built a a website that is now about week or two weeks old, focusing on a keyword that hasnt got much competition, but still gets 1300 exact searches a month.

I'm currently ranked 32 on google's natuiral listings, and first one on quoted keyword term search.

Now, I need to know how to push my site way up in the google's natural listing for this keyword. I understand I need do-follow backlinks from authority websites?

Well, my question is - if for example I want to build 100 backlinks, would I have to write 100 different articles and submit each one to different article directory or...?

.. Or can I submit THE SAME article to different article directories and collect backlinks that way?

Can you help me understand this? Please, thank you.

PS. Also if you could name some authority websites where I can link to my site, with a do-follow backlink.

Thank you Very Much!!!

Writing and submitting articles is one way to get good quality backlinks, you can get 100 backlinks by writing 20 different articles and submitting to 5 different article directories. Or writing 5 articles and submitting to 20 article directories, the choice is yours, whichever you are more comfortable with.

Writing articles and placing them on your own site with a link to your home page works too, because Google loves fresh, unique content.

Taking part in forums that allow you to link out is another way of getting backlinks to your site and answering questions related to your topic on Yahoo Answers.

Get your site listed in directories relevant to your niche, link back to your site from your facebook profile and twitter account.

The best way I've found is to use a wide variety of methods instead of focusing on just one.

You can submit the same article to multiple directories. As long as those articles get indexed you will get the backlinks.

If your keyword only gets 1,300 searches a month you can probably rank top 3 with just good onsite optimization. If you know html your title, h1, h2 should be loaded with your keywords.

I used to think backlinks were everything to ranking, but onsite is just as important.

As mentioned already, you can submit 1 article to lots of different directories.

And there are always lots of other ways to get links to. You could export your article to a pdf and submit it to pdf sharing sites, or convert it to a video and submit it with tubemogul's free submission to several different sites at once.

There's also the controversial profile backlinks.

Just Be careful with article directories as they are not what they where even a month ago. There are many unhappy article marketers at the moment. Still good just not as good as they once where.

Many have copped a big slap and are not ranking as well.

Your idea of 100 Unique articles to directories is a good one, But you should use some of those articles to build suidoo lenses and hub pages. Also build a wordpress blog and place your articles there all linking into your money site. Do the same at blogspot etc.

Then you need to let the search engines know about all these blogs etc so start pining and submitting to search engines.

Last see How we all have a link below our posts?
Go to userCP and create a signature with a link to your site.
Do this in forums that are in your niche and on topic. The higher authority forum the Better JUICE you will get.

Just keeping adding content, posting articles, posting links etc. Or Get someone else to do it for you.

Hope that makes sense.

Best wishes

ODA

Besides submiting articles, there are other ways to get backlinks such as Social Bookmarking sites (You can use tools like www.socialmarker.com to semi-automatize the process) and links on profiles.

Regarding your articles, reuse the content by subminiting it to different directories. You can use tools like Article Marketing, Free Content & High Quality Backlinks to help you out.

In writing and submitting an article, few articles will do. There is no problem in submitting the same article to different article submission sites.

It is not necessary to write hundreds of articles and submit each of them in different article submission sites. Few articles are enough and submit them to different article sites. This will help you in getting backlinks.
