I have been building backlinks by commenting on both .gov/.edu blogs as well as authority blogs in my niche. however, i found that when i include my keyword in my name, it is more likely to be disapproved. for instance "eric" is much more likely to not be viewed as spam as "eric my keyword" is. Is it critical you include your keyword in the anchor text of your name when commenting on blogs.

You build links to rank for a key word. If you don't make the anchor text with the key word which you want to rank, How can you rank for that key word? - So, linking with your name will not help to improve the ranking for any key words other than your name. When building .edu/.gov don't put any links right after creating the profile, just add links after 3-4 days. |

you can add links later? what if it is a blog where you dont create a profile, just add your URL, Name and comment? see i thought you comment to build backlinks back to your page, not rank for a particular keyword |

| For blog comments, try your best to leave a very relevant and meaningful comment (look at the other comments with links on that page and understand why those links were not removed). Always try to make the keyword as a regular part of a comment. Avoid short comments and common spam type comments such as "thank you", 'great post'. This practice will definitely keep most of the links alive.

i try my best to write a relevant value adding comment after reading a blog. if i read you correctly, do you recommend also adding my keyword in the text of the comment as well or just the name?

As I said, if you look at the existing comments with links, you can identify which type of linking will be better for that particular website. | |

I have a question. What code do you use to anchor your name as a link with your key word? Where do you place it where it says name? or Website?
