Did a one week experiment on link units. I put them just above the header. After a week, my revenue went down. Checked the stats on the link units. Lot's of click outs, few clicks on ads, getting pennies on the dollar. It also seemed that people clicking out were not coming back. Deleted the link units and revenue back up. Any tips on placement? Like maybe at the bottom? Or just not use them? Any success stories? Paul |

Hi Paul, In my experience, link units have NOT worked well for me. Why? Because they have not brought in the AdSense revenue. If they do, it's only like 2% of the total AdSense income. The sites I tested them on were simple looking html sites. Where did I put them? The usual top spot, below the header. I find they contribute to clutter, to be honest. But, I see many big, authoritative sites use them. For them, it might have worked wonderfully. |
