Getting traffic through Squidoo lenses

Hi! I had created a few lenses, but I didn’t have time to create more lenses, or to promote them. I’m using them basically in order to drive traffic to my websites.

I didn’t like the last Squidoo rules (last December) with their new categories because my lenses lost their ranking, but now it seems that all my old lenses recuperated their lensrank.

After Google’s algorithm changes EZA stopped sending the same traffic it used to send to my websites before. I’m having more traffic from Google now, but I miss the traffic I also had from many of my old EZA articles that are not being displayed in the first results page like before, even though all my articles are original.

I got back to creating Squidoo lenses (so that I may use all my articles building them) and I saw that my new lenses immediately started sending traffic to my websites, besides the old ones. Squidoo didn’t lose its ranking.

I had created a lens teaching everyone how to easily create many Squidoo lenses last year. It is very helpful, even if you already know how to create them:

You have to create many quality lenses to get enough traffic.

It’s a good idea to promote your lenses at the Squidu forum. You should also post your lenses’ links everywhere you can. You can promote them at Yahoo Answers and Quora. I give you more indications inside this lens.

Create lenses about related topics because this way you’ll get more traffic through the Discovery Tool. This is a very good alternative now.

Hasn't Squidoo been effected by the new Google Farmer update?

I stick with EZA for traffic. Squidoo is getting more harsh and I noticed my traffic is significantly less since December from Squidoo.

I keep submitting my articles to EZA too, but their ranking is not the same. I saw that my new Squidoo lenses started immediately sending traffic to my websites; thus, it’s a good idea to create many of them now.

I kept it. I submitted many articles to Bukisa in the past; I submit everyday a new article to EzineArticles, Self-Growth, etc. Your list is quite long… but very helpful.

Article directories are still very good for many reasons, especially because of the syndication and the regular readers, besides still sending traffic to our websites.

By submitting our articles to article directories we still have many advantages, but even though I didn’t want to admit it in the beginning, EZA lost its ranking in general terms. One of my strongest articles was sending to my main website around 25 visitors per day; now this article is sending it only around 5 -10 visitors per day because it is not being displayed in the first results page when internet users type in its main keywords like before. So, I concluded that I had to do something else with my articles in order to get a lot of traffic from them like before. EZA sent a lot of traffic to my websites since 2007, but now it’s not as powerful as before.

I found out that by creating Squidoo lenses I create mini-websites, where I present to the public an article collection based on a specific topic. This is very good for search engine ranking. I have already written more than 1100 articles, so I can choose a few of them about the same subject, and perhaps write a new one to engage all the content, and create a specific web-page very attractive for the search engines, and very helpful to the public, about a specific topic. They find everything there.

This is a very nice way to get traffic now that a web page’s ranking is based on content evaluation.

So, this is a very good idea for everyone. Use all the articles you have about a certain topic, write a new one to link everything together and create a nice Squidoo lens about something very interesting. You’ll get a lot of traffic this way. You’ll also sell many affiliate products in each lens.

squidoo was affected. But just like eza, only the junk was affected.
People seem to overlook that part. EZA is still attractive to google.
Not sure why people think the whole eza ball of wax went down.
It did not. People's junk on eza may have taken a dive.

One should subscribe to the squidoo blog, or at least read it.
They have made many changes. They are warning people about
the google algo change and to start making unique, valuable
lenses. They (squidoo) is taking it upon themselves to weed out
garbage content. Or at least take a more active effort.

They must have got a heads up or something, because before the
end of last year they changed a whole lot of things to cut down
on spammy lenses.

I don't ever rely on Squidoo or EZA for traffic, just purely for linking. The traffic from there is abysmal. You just can't beat organic traffic.
