Wordpress, convert page to post results in 404

Hi

I have a wordpress blog with several pages which I want to convert into posts. So I set about creating categories and create posts. I made sure the new posts get the same permalink as the original page - to avoid 404 error.
Now when I go the link I get 404 error, this happens also when in wordpress post editor, where I can click on "View Post" I get 404 error.

any idea what I need to do?

Hi loginname,

It sounds like there is a discrepancy in the old URL structure verses the new structure. Look it over carefully to see how the two differ. Or, just go with whatever URL structure you prefer and add redirects from the old pages to the new post permalinks. There are plenty of redirect plugins for Wordpress, so it should be easy to do.

But strange that when I click "View Post" in the wordpress admin module I get a 404 error, that shouldn't happend.
